So what if they use biceps? They can grow too right? Using more muscle makes you move more weight which stimulates more growth. Do you honestly think the lats stop working when the biceps do work too?
And no i am not trolling. Give beginners the most proven and most benefitting exercises.

If for example someone's lats are a weak point and their biceps take over I'm obviously going to make sure they try to use their lats as much as they can.

This is why I suggested using a thumb-less grip. When using a thumb-less grip you take out most of the biceps involvement during the movement, thus hitting the lats more effectively.

A beginner doesn't have any weak points.
The only thing beginners have is weak form (which could be caused by lifting weights that they can't handle)

That would be exactly my point. He's a beginner so show him the heavy compounds first. They will benefit him the most. If he later in his training career developes weak points he of course can adress them with isolation (more or less) exercises. But three different exercises for lats without the bread and butter exercises is inefficient for a beginner, who should do full body training.
