No harm in getting a coach to teach you to lift, just make sure you get one who knows what they're doing, like trappy-chan
Nah, I started at about 290 and got up to 340 in half a year with the help of a coach. Not even a prestigious one, just a guy who puts me through more volume than I'd do on my own, and tells me to not be a pussy when I'm about to give up.

Do you think long femurs should affect this? The bar position would reduce forward lean and focus a tad more on quads, which are generally the weakest link on sumo deadlifts. Is my reasoning correct?

Going for a true 1rm today. How do you guys like to prepare for it? Not warm up schemes and shit, but everything else.
Pretty good chart, but imo the "speedy" guidance for RPE 7 can be a little misleading when it's a high rep set of you're quite fatigued - eg if you squat 8 reps at a weight you could do for ~11 reps flat out, it will still be pretty slow by the last rep.
I think about all the nerds I've bullied and all the scandi poon I've annihilated.

I like to eat around two hours before the lift. Not a ton, just like a cup of cereal or something. Also, I try to make sure it's timed before the lift, not before I get to the gym.
Good music is a must, too. Can't stand the trash they play at my uni gym.
Eat well
Take warm ups seriously
If you're using music, knowing which song you will use for your attempt
Do your usual mobility/pre-lift routine as normal
Make sure no one will use the bar you intend to use for your attempt (my gym only has two power bars)
