Veeky Forums and Cardio

What kind of Cardio does Veeky Forums do? Any suggestions? Rowing looks a good cardio workout, and it works out arms.

Also, does anyone have a suggestion for a decently priced bicycle for cardio rides?

I run.

Riding a real bicycle for cardio isn't productive. It's designed to make travel easier and efficient. If you want a bike for cardio, go with pic related.

The ergometer rower works fine too

Impressive, but enjoy your no gains and bad knees.

I use one of those fatass bikes with the chair at the gym. I can sit there and distract myself with anime and kill 45 minutes in the morning. I really dislike cardio but on steroids its absolutely necessary for health so I just do it.

Bad knees is actually a myth, but right on man.

I row between 30-60 mins 4 times a week. Play squash for 50 mins twice a week

Very impressive, but I don't like running because I got in a car accident when I was a kid and it messed up my leg

I was gonna say a bicycle is cheaper, but these things are actually pretty cheap on Amazon. I just bought one

C'mon man, if you're going to be a runner, be aware of the decisions you are making. Look around at your next half or marathon at the number of knee braces, knee sleeves, etc. It comes with the territory

The cross country coach at my high school had his knees BTFO and he said his docs said it's from when he ran in college

>I was gonna say a bicycle is cheaper, but these things are actually pretty cheap on Amazon. I just bought one
I got mine for $100 on craigslist

>bicycle for cardio rides
Literally a meme workout

fuck you must weigh 130 pounds or less

Prowler

boxers run a metric fuck ton each week on top of jumping rope and all the sparring/random other shit they do.

why don't they all have bad knees?

20 min HIIT jumprope everyday

Tryna get in the habit of doing a quick 5k like twice a week while lifting and going trail riding on my bike.

Trail riding is probably the GOAT leg/cardio exercise out there.

Wtf are you talking about?

>implying they dont

>been trying that C25K program over the last couple of weeks
>up to week 4
>had to jog for 5 minutes straight
>had to stop after 4, because lower legs were burning like hell

Just end my life

What are your interval times?

life is pain
choose the pain of success over the pain of failure

Should I just try again on my next cardio day?

wait till you get to week 5, the difficulty of the runs jumps up a lot.

Well, fuck. What should I do?

Hats off to you man. My goal is to be able to run a marathon one day

Fatty here.

I usually run 5 days a week but it's storming pretty hard so I just got done with some cardio in the garage.

I alternated 30 seconds of burpees and then 100 jump ropes. I did three sets of these then sit ups and then paced for a while. Then did two more sets of these.

It may not sound like much but man that wore me out. I think I sweat more than I do on my runs. I may have to do this routine regularly.

Try taking an ibuprofen and drinking some coffee about an hour before your workout. I just fly on the treadmill at 8.5mph for 20 minutes easily. I get a run inbetween every two exercises and its now my favorite part of the workout.

old people=old knees, no surprise there.
other people's mishaps are not representative of personal development. I'm not that user but I've had great success running with damaged knee ligaments after running on trails barefoot.

Did you run in that world marathon event today? I think it was charity run for people with spinal injuries.

of course it wore you out, you're fat.

fellow fatfuck reporting

So no need to be a dick about it...

What kind of cardio do you do?

This. I just bought one of these a couple months ago and been riding it every day at 60 rpm for 30 minutes. By the time I'm done I'm covered in sweat. Any idea if the gains carry over to running and regular cycling?

Does it make a difference that I'm a fatty on a cut?

go for distance or time, not speed. You're not gonna lose more by running faster, instead, you're gonna tire faster and run less.

I set myself a goal to run 1hr every time i go to the gym (6xweek), and i have to complete it no matter if i can't go anymore - ill walk for 5 mins and get back running. I'm losing consistently 1000+ cal a day on the treadmill, cutting 2 pounds a week.

DEATH BEFORE CARDIO!! ALL PRAUSE BE TO BRODIN!

That makes sense, but I'm also trying to do the C25K program. Should I just walk faster instead of jogging?

swimming

pro-swimmers are also aesthetic af

25-50 min low to moderate intensity cardio on treadmill/elliptical/recumbent bike per day, sometimes a few minutes of HIIT on a stairmill

15 seconds
60 rest (2 weeks) x10
30 seconds

So I started running two weeks ago basically going from nothing to 1.5 mile per night....I stopped doing it a week ago last Friday because my left knee had sort of a dull ache. It feels better now, but I am wondering if this will go away or not....It never hurt to where I would have to limp or anything, and I don't think there is any serious injury, anyone else experience this right when they started?

Google turned up something called runner's knee....

I practice jiu jitsu 3x/week for 1:30 hours, and run a mile there and then run a mile back.

I also try to go on longer runs or hikes once a week, or do a day of sprint work.

Almost all pro athletes are...

Skipping rope is great. You get to do cardio and work on your coordination and when you get better you can do more advanced stuff. It is not as boring as running.

My nose is very congested all the time. I've tried trimming my nose hair with a nose hair trimmer but I still feel my nose clogged up. How do I unclog my nose so that I dont have to mouth breathe while jogging?

I wanna get the soccer player physique - low bodyfat, visible abs and somewhat built but obviously isn't as big as a lifter. What are some good workouts to attain that physique? I'm thinking of doing HIIT for an hour a day, 3-4x a week coupled with endurance training (3-5 mile jogging)

Bring napkins and blow it out.

I cant. It's all dried up and shit. The inside of my nose feels dry and congested

have you tried playing soccer every day?

Bring one of those things that are made to clean your nose with, the ones with a salt water solution.

>Riding a real bicycle for cardio isn't productive
Then you're doing it wrong

I don't really know how the C2K works, but remember it's always better to do more than less, ie: walk for a bit if you're certain you can't run anymore. I also always find that after I walk for a bit, I'm able to continue running at least 2-3km (during my 12k's)

Not the previous user.
Please explain the (2 weeks).

If you want a road bike you need to spend around £500 if you're buying new and want something decent, i.e. want to get up some actual hills. If you're cycling on the flat a hybrid bike or cheap road bike would be fine.
