No, the number of hour sleep is not the factor. The factor is which REM sleep cycle you wake up. You will feel vitalized if you wake up during the first cycle, but extremely sleepy and even temporarily paralyzed (sleep paralysis) in the final stage (dream stage).

I have noticed that sleeping 6-8 (I have noticed 7h is best for me) is good for me. Sleeping 7h makes me feel pretty energetic and good all day, and when its time to sleep, i fall asleep in no time. Still i am an enormous faggot and like to sleep 10-13h and waking in zombiefied state.

It's always strange how people recommend 8 to 10 hours of sleep. I only need 4 hours to be ready to go which only sucks because I wake up very early and make noise while everyone else is asleep. I've tried the usual 8 hours even more but it has always left me groggy and tired. People do ask how I can live that way but all I can say is that I don't think about it just sleep and then wake up.

I don't feel right unless I get ten hours. I think it varies by person.

I generally feel like shit if i dont get 6 to 8 hours. I get 6 regularly because i like to stay up because i fucking hate my job and sleeping makes it morning quicker. Any less than that and my lifts start stalling. Any more than 8 or 9 is very rare but i feel mentally lazy.

It's a lot about the quality of the sleep. If the quality is spot on 7-8 should be enough even for the physically active. That said, I find that how much i sleep and how much energy i have also depends largely on my emotional health. When I'm feeling depressed I sleep more.

Lot of things you can do to improve sleep quality:
Go to bed early (around 10:00)
Block out all light
No caffeine after 4pm
Earplugs if needed
