I feel like after using pre-workouts a few days in a row, my body gets used to them and they no longer pack the same punch. is there a way to get around this?

id recommend only using your pre workout once or twice a week. maybe after as few days of rest. that first gym session back will feel great because the preworkout will be hitting strong, and you will be fully healed/recovered.

Most pre workouts are mostly based on caffeine, which your body builds a resistance to over time(I assume that's also the case for other stimulants, but I don't wanna talk out of my ass). In order to lower your resistance again, just go off the stuff for a while. You don't want the stuff to become a crutch you need everytime you work out anyway, that just defeats the purpose

my regular "pre-workout" is often pastry/a banana + black coffee. I only use "supplemental" pwo if I'm very dozy/just woke up or something like that.
I just drink a coffee 1 hr befor I hit the gym. Why waste money on stupid pre-work out sups that do just the same?

Don't buy over-expensive pre-workout crap, just get some caffeine pills; 95% of the the effect of these pre-workout shakes is the caffeine anyway. Caffeine pills cost next to nothing.
Either take them when you're feeling low energy, or take 1 on and 1 week off (or 2 weeks off if needed). The effect of caffeine is almost completely mitigated after not too long, that's why you need time off.

Caffeine pills are like seven bucks for two months worth if you take one a day. I save the pre workout for early mornings and overtime.
