I work a shit job that only pays me $62k a year

>fed contractor that writes environmental health reports
>make $40k a year at an entry level position
>not a ton of money but enough that i can live on my own
>have a 4 year degree in bio
>have my own home gym, enough money for whatever food i want, pay all my bills, still have a little bit of play money, and slowly saving a few hundred a month for a house instead of apartment.
>i live in a sorta cheap area but get paid based off of one of the best federal pay scales in the country

corporate litigation attorney
400k/yr

Do you have a gf though

Software engineer. I make a bit over $100k/year in salary and around $60k/year in benefits.

I fucked up negotiating though; my company should be paying me more by like $50k. Unfortunately the only way to resolve this is by switching companies, which is a bit irritating.

>financial analyst 56K a year
>airbnb spare room 18k a year
> getting MBA GI pays me 20K a year to go

total around 94K a year while getting a free masters degree from a private school

I work at Walmart while in school
I just got rejected from one engineering school I applied to, if I don't get accepted into the other one I will probably actually kill myself.

Sales Engineer. I make 110k with commission.

sorry

>Post 911 GI Bill

>had one for 2 years
>left me 3 months ago to "figure herself out"

do you need to talk user?

Sit all day on my ass being responsible for the IT in a small office. $67k
I need a better job, but I'm kind of tied to this one right now.

Executive chef. 88k a year
It's enough so that I earn more than the average but I'll never have 3 lambos and Have my house paid off by 30. But I'm ok with what I have

Does no one here work a job that actually requires then to be Veeky Forums? I work in a max security prison and am part of the first response team...and want to become part of the tactical response team. Salary is 70k with 6 weeks leave a year, and I make another 20k -ish in overtime.

I'm working in retail too but I've finished all my exams and will be graduating soon. I can't afford grad school so I'm stuck making no money and barely paying my bills. I'm applying for jobs but nobody hires graduates until September so I'm fucked for the summer

Student

14.5k a year

before i got my cushy office job, i was a landscaper. 12 hour work days. had to install pavement/sidewalks, put in stone patios, build retaining walls, shit like that. Was a ton of fun but i was only making $12 an hour and definitely wasnt worth it. Especially since i had to play charades with margarito and alberto to communicate to them what had to be done.

>actually wanting to work in a prison where you could get shanked by some degenerate instead of being an alpha male in a suit with a badass car.

jobs that require you to be Veeky Forums are for cucks. While you're wondering who's going to stab you today, i'm fucking your girlfriend with my BIG BLACK DICK.

GIS Data Analyst at $37k

>mfw seeing how much everyone else makes.

It's the good life brehs. Got me a place with my qt gf. Feels good

I'm good bro, thanks though.

>$56k give or take
Blue collar warehouse worker. Shipping and logistics for a major American car manufacturer. UAW Union job. Full benefits etc etc the whole nine.

Job is boring and monotonous. Pays $30/hr with bonuses scattered throughout the year. Just paid off my car and am now saving for a house while going to school for my bachelor degree in Network Adminiatration. (Company pays for schooling)

>working with people who don't know the language
Fuck I hate that

>all these people on a Mongolian painting forum making over 50k

I sense people might be lying

That sounds way low for the job

>not using the experience as an opportunity to learn a new language

I thought this board was about self-improvement

Did you get a secondary degree or have you just been working a while in the field? Also, what kind of software do you write/edit.

I get 100k a year + benefits for eating pizza. I went to a 2 year trade school to be a certified Chad.

i know some spanish, but when you are hauling 200 pound stones, or working on 110F degree days, you arent exactly caring about how to speak spanish.

Im not going through the effort of learning some obscure African language just to tell Shoshana and akachuka what bathroom needs cleaning

> Not understanding that the national pay average includes degenerates who work full time/part time at walmart and that real adults are expected to make over 50k unless they're teachers

>Building Maintenance
>~35k/yr
Only been in this line of work for about 2 years, but so far it's great. Keeps me on my feet and fairly active, lots of downtime/ boss is rarely around the properties, have a 1 bedroom apartment in the building so no commute. Plus I catch the qt3.14 tenants mirin sometimes

roasties BTFO

I got a degree in computer science.

Graduated in 2011, I was making $81k + $30k in bonuses then I think, although my salary was around $93k I quit due to location and the terrible lifestyle that was associated with that company. I wrote some testing tools for them.

Job after that was around $100k + $10k in bonuses. Worked on some BPM shit. Quit due to the company being a mess. 80% of the coworkers I ate lunch with quit within the two years I was there.

Right now I write boring internal shit at a top company. I will definitely switch teams if I don't switch jobs. I thought I'd be able to stay at a job for longer than two years for once, but I don't think it's likely. My current position might make it difficult to switch to another team that does something more interesting.

I messed up with the negotiations at my current company because I messed up my scheduling interview with their competitor (they thought I was interested in a different location) and I was desperate to leave my other company. I'm now in a position to negotiate even without multiple job offers because while I'm bored I can take my time.

My aim is to get a job where I can travel more, either for conferences (doing "tech evangelism") or being able to work remotely full time (added bonus of not having to wear clothes every day). But if i can't do that, I'll take more money and/or more interesting work I guess.

Network Engineer $27/hr & avg 50hrs week. Best part is I work from home.

Get free training at professormessor.com - wNet+ and Sec+ certs you can get about $18/hr

Good luck

Computer Generalist Engineer

I make about 47k a year right now, but if I went to another company I'd be able to make 50-60k

Live off of like $1500 a year while parents pay for school, entering junior year. Doing research (unpaid) and taking classes over the summer. Life is good in the upper middle class

How do i get a job like this?

I don't know what I want to do, but I know I want to be rich

Sounds cool. I want to be like you

High voltage inside wireman. Wrestling 750 - 1000 kcmil wire all day keeps me pretty fit. Made $115k last year

Work in group homes for the mentally disabled, just started. $10/h so like 16k a year.

Graduated with my psych degree last year so I'm just using this to get experience and save up for my masters. Aside from that I got no fucking clue what I want to do. Leaning towards school psychology but last I checked they don't earn that much money and I don't want to live poor all my life.

Foreign exchange trader, 450k

>getting a job that makes you work hard
>not getting a job that allows you to work smart so you can work out after work
I seriously hope you guys don't do this

hey its me ur brother

150k seems like a very high pay for what you're doing. Especially if you're working for a big company who don't need specific people. How are you approaching job hunts to get paid so much?

work at a sour gas plant. make 25 bux an hour, 3 bux extra when it's night shifts. do rotating shifts, interested to see how thats going to fuck with muh gains.

>kcmil
the fuck is that?

Fuck off

Do you see a lot of IP work? Products liability? What's the majority of your practice?

ITT: cucks talking about their heavily taxed earned income jobs

I think he means a bad job, but it pays well. Example: sewage technician. Pays well, but crappy job.

38k + benefits, bonus and free drinks/ food sometimes. Shitty tax accountant

When I see posts like this I assume that 1 of 2 things is true about the poster.

Either you are a normal well adjusted adult and you think that you are the only one on the entire forum cos you are just that special.

Or you are one of the semi retarded people whom you think this board is full of and you assume everyone else must be like you.

If you don't mind telling me, which one is it?

I make 6 digits, but I'm also a fat poo the loo, so I guess it evens out.

I wish I can become Chad. HEIGHT FACE FRAME

Special ed. teacher, I have a whole classroom of severely autistic kids to handle. No tenure, pay is 56 k a year, plus good union bonuses. I plan on buying a house in the next two years.

>i was a landscaper

Nooo you were a useless handyman. Landscapers make an easy 3000 at least per project.

Don't be like me, bud. Grew up overseas on a sheltered military base, moved back, and now I'm landlocked for the first time with these shapes that inhabit America. I don't know what I need to do or how to survive in a civilian town. The only time I ever feel good is when I'm singing.

>I have a whole classroom of severely autistic kids to handle
And then you come spend your day on Veeky Forums? What's wrong with you?

Casino cashier. I make less than $10/hour, but I make tips and get paid weekly.
Filed my taxes this year and ended up with $68k.

Size of the wire. 1mil= 1/1000 of an inch.
So 1000kcmil wire means copper portion of wire is 1 inch thick. On top of that you have insulation

24 y/o jobless graduate student
Live with my parents.
Own less than nothing.

Hoping to get a job soon...

Fuck I'm a psych grad too. There's no jobs in it but luckily it looks and sounds good on paper. Gonna try for a management position in my shitty retail job an if I don't get it go into real estate. There's a lot of firms hiring lately and while the basic is shit the commission package could mean earning 70-100k if I'm good at it

What degree bruh

So... using metric logic with imperial units?

> not understanding selection bias
> confirmed for making

Bartender. College wasn't an option for me.

Cleared 60k last year. Every time I see a tough guy, "I don't tip!" thread, I laugh. Wherever these guys are, they never come into my place.

>tfw autodidact

Neither, I'm just a shit poster but this site does not attract typical well adjusted people. It's literally a site for reclusive weebs which has expanded to accommodate different interests and users. I would bet the well adjusted people making decent money in this thread are a minority or are simply lying. I'm not saying every Veeky Forums user is a basement dwelling neet but the majority are young people that are either students or graduates in low paying entry level jobs that haven't reached the stable adjusted 'adult' level yet

You are also confirmed for making

You in Cali? If you are you should be making quite a bit more. Or if you're in texas or maybe northwest you're doing okay still, I guess.

not him but work in an are like california or new york, starting pay is 100k for someone with a computer scienece degree

Not him but another CS major, got an internship this summer where they're paying me 10.7k a month.

Quite honestly, most places in Silicon Valley area are expensive as shit cost of living (~2-3k for a nice 1 bedroom apartment). They have to pay their employee's well to live there. Also, software is lucrative as shit and its the private sector so why not pay employees well so they're happy to work for you? On the other end, from what I've seen, government programming is usually shit pay and unfulfilling.

>tfw only 40k a year

hahaha made me lol

>landing 10k a month internship

Who the fuck are you?

I do make less than $50k right now, I never said I didn't :^)

I also wish you luck in your money making goals. To be honest I just want to make enough money doing a job I don't hate so I can retire early and drop out of this rat race.

Jealous as fuck of all of you who are both interested in and good at comp sci.

Are you attractive? How often do guys actually pick up your hot female coworkers?

Only hot guys can pick up grills at work. If you try and you're not a Chad everyone will think you're the weird or creepy guy

Women are fucked

Ditto

I'm just pissed I couldn't get a paid internship and my family is dirt poor so I had to get a job to support myself instead of an unpaid internship. Say what you will but you can't network if you can't afford to eat. I'm hoping to get a grad position where companies will hire you on pretty shit wages for 2 years to train you before you get a fucking huge pay rise, if I don't get that then I'm pretty fucked

lol nooo

No, Midwest. Where CS goes between 60-80k for entry level. Plus my grades were all shit.

Cost of living is really low though.

Pilot for traffic watch in so cal. Flying Cessna 182's.

Becoming a flight instructor is hard.

Well after housing and taxes it's nowhere near that.. Taxes will take a third and then housing is 2.5k a month

What part of midwest? I've thought about checking out Texas because of the low cost of living but grew up in the bay area of Cali so I don't know how different it'd be.

>photovoltaic system designer
>40k/year + bonus
>health insurance + stock options
>can work wherever I have internet access, although I'm more efficient at home or the office where I have multiple screens
>set my own hours
>full-time pay but practically work part-time

It was the first job offer I got out of college, and I desperately needed a job. Been doing it about a year, will probably do it for another year while I wait for my gf to finish grad school. Then I plan on traveling for a bit before going back to school myself. In the area where I live I could be commanding a higher salary, but like I said it is a pretty comfy job.

theguardian.com/technology/2016/apr/29/tech-intern-wages-snapchat-twitter-apple

I'm actually interning at Amazon at 10k (yet that image in the article shows them being the lowest..

Audio engineer at a mid-sized venue. About $40k a year, but I only have to work 15 days a month. Freelance another 6 days or so a month for an extra $15k a year on average. Not the best but I can be active, work with friends and great bands, generally get fed well and its fun while I'm young.

Nah, Minnesota. It's cold as fuck but good rate of living and schools.

You don't even have to be that good in comp sci. There are way more jobs than employees right now. It's just about getting into the field.

You have to be the biggest nerd in the world to land that internship. Fag

He said as he took Jaquan's 20 dollar bill, put it in his pocket and then kneeled so he could blow him.

Fucking moron. This anti-intellectualism just keeps you poor. It's not actually cool like you think it is.
