The shirt is nothing like a slingshot. It's much stiffer and much more difficult. It fundamentally changes the way you bench and thus isn't any use for raw bench.
It's much more expensive and dumb to do.
It's only to be done if you have people to help and if you plan on competing in it.

It helps imho, but in an indirect way. It forces you to be anal about technique, else the shirt tries to kill you. It's a skill that's useful everywhere
