As for what's wrong with your squat, I'd guess mobility. Stretch your hamstrings, ankles, glutes, quads, your hip abduction mobility, quadratus lumborum and spinal erectors, your upper back, etc etc etc etc

Also make sure your back is neutral and strong and not rounding during the squat.

And make sure you have good ankle mobility and/or are wearing weightlifting shoes.

it's to the left of the L4 area. feels quire superficial. it feels like an ache, not a sharp pain, and only when i flex the spinal erectors in addition to tilting the hips to the posterior.

i should also mention i have scoliosis in that area. it's somewhat similar to the pain from that, but that pain is located more on the spine. this feels off center.

I used to hate deadlifting until I became strong enough to do it right.
