Take two identical twins. Feed one a vegan diet and the other an omnivorous diet but feed them equal calories and macronutrients, have them perform an equal exercise program and have them sleep the same hours of sleep every night and you'll have basically equal results in terms of physique or sports performance. The only difference will be that the vegan twin will be SLIGHTLY less likely to develop certain diseases.
One weakness, if you want to call it that, of vegan bodybuilders and powerlifters is that they tend to be more health conscious and less likely to join /fraud/ than their omnivorous counterparts. If you look at vegan strength athletes who do use steroids, their results are generally comparable. Pic related.
Based on CBTs, VG has a better body than 90% of non-fraud fitizens. I don't think he looks great for the amount of time he has put into training his body, but I primarily attribute that to shit insertions and staying single digit bodyfat with 9 hours of super intense cardio a week. He'd look a lot bigger and better at 13% body fat.

beans, quinoa, whole-grain pasta, lentils, broccoli, chickpeas, etc. They're quite high in protein but not to the same extent as protein powder. I just make sure I eat enough/larger quantities. It also helped to embrace the mythical nature of the memeabolic window

Im gonna get hate for this but I've never counted macros. I just try to hit 2500-3000 calories (for maintenance, currently trying to hit ~1800 calories) while aiming for >90g protein. I mainly just go by intuition and will seldom also check to make sure I get my protein. I know that's not very good advice but I can't say it hasn't worked out fine for me
