I used to be there. Best thing that helped me was starting to practice meditation/mindfulness and reading about Buddhism. I know it is not for everybody and you'll probably think it is some hippy shit, but just sticking with it really helped me let go of all the things that made me feel.

It says it right their. Kilograms are mass. We are not measuring mass, we are measuring weight. 200 kg weighs different amounts depending on where you're lifting. 200 lbs is always 200 lbs.
They literally tried the press decades ago in the Olympics and had to eliminate it because it was too difficult to judge. Given the way powerlifters like to "bend" the rules, it's not hard to imagine how badly they would bastardize the press from day one.

Its not just powerlifters. Its the nature of competition. Once you've got a set of rules part of the game is getting yourself the advantage within the rules, especially in strength sports where that makes such a huge difference.

It's worse than it looks when you start to notice how many people are entered in multiple categories. There were a total of 7 (seven) lifters on day two of a national championship.
It's best to think of it in body-fat percentages. If you're below 20% you're solid from a health perspective. The closer you get to 20%, the higher your lean body mass better be.
At 6'4? Probably not that unhealthy unless its all flab. Joint wise it can be rough, but it depends on the person, their frame and so on.
Being more muscular at those weights helps a bit. In the grand scheme of lifting phil at 105-108kg isnt that big, i still look like a twink at 112
No one ever said this is a healthy sport, you have to carry more mass than your frame should have regardless of weight class and you lift weights that could cripple you if you fuck up

If I have more LBM aka muscle mass, then having a lot of fat is not as bad as if I had the same amount of fat at a lower LBM aka amount of muscle mass or what?
If you're natty, the higher your lean body mass is the more body fat you need to maintain it.
Just tossing out numbers here, but to maintain a lbm of 80kg you'd need at least 8 kg of fat at 1.82 m. For an lbm of 90 kg you'd need 13 kg of fat. For 100 kg you'd need 18% bodyfat. Etc.
There's a method there, but it's all fine tuned by your genetics. The natty limit is somewhere around 27 fat free mass index.

I am 6'4, but I am also not a competing, elite powerlifter that needs to rely on extra bodyweight kilos in order to get the edge out of his total.
And I think in my case, it is the most logical and healthy decision to become and stay somewhat lean.
