These tend to be the best threads on here and definitely the most positive. So I'll go ahead and start one.

Post progress pictures and motivation. Ask for advice and help those who are just starting out.

240->182 lbs
Took about three years. Any advise on getting your family into fitness? My whole family is still chubby and seem to always be trying to lose weight but never seem to be able to keep it off.

As for me, I'm 5'10" 190, down from 225 since February. Almost feels like I made no progress but other people say I'm thinning down so okay. Any advice for me? I'm currently on a 700cal deficit btw.

Did you just eat at maintenance as a beginner?
I'm 5 months in with some nice gains, started as a skelly, but my bulking has given me a gut. I want to cut but I hear that's really bad as a beginner. Not sure which of the three to do atm.

No idea if guess around 12 just by how I look
Solid work on the weight loss man, as for the advise definitely make sure you lift as you cut and find a diet/ way to eat that you can stick to. For me intermittent fasting has been a godsend.

First year I lost 70 pounds while lifting got down below 170 then did a few bulk cut cycles and here I am. As a beginner you can definitely make gains on a cut they just might be a little slower.

notice any difference in the way people treat you?

I dont have a before, but i was 145 lbs and strung out on heroin. i managed to get clean and start lifting. im now 175 pic related.

what's your chest routine?

I'm a very arm dominant person so bench never really improved my chest. Last year it was definitely a weak point of mine, pic related. But I added in paused incline dumbbell bench and some type of fly into every upper body workout and it seemed to do the trick. I'm very happy with my progress chest wise.
Men seem to respect me more which is nice. But the main thing I noticed is now when I'm walking around girls will make eye contact and that never happened before. I know it's a really small thing, but it's kinda nice not being invisible any more.

All I have are facial before and after.

Still getting rid of that last 20 or so pounds and then I'm really going to bulk.

Posted this before, but here's from 5'9" 204 pounds down to 174 pounds.
I played sports and worked some manual labour so I had some muscle when I was fat.

Do people just tan when they get fit or does getting healthier make you tanner?

Nice job OP. I'm a 5'8" manlet who also weighs 182 lbs right now but for me it's all fat. Definitely my new goal.

I'm in desperate need of some advice... I have never been into a gym before and have no idea how to use equipment. I have been cutting long enough to drop 40 pounds and now I'm sitting around 195, so I'm thinking its a good time to start.

I'm really anxious about looking like an idiot, like if I mess up on form or something. Also from what I know people stare at other people in gyms for some reason which makes me more nervous. Any advice? I really want to be fit, I've been a fatass my entire life and want to change that.

Here is the thing, most of the time nobody really gives enough of a shit to pay attention to who you are. If you have someone who can "mentor" you that's the best option. If not then just go by yourself and ask some dude who knows what he is doing to help you out abit. Most regular people won't find it too annoying to help a newbie.

Yeah, you'll notice im strategically covering the hang with my and. it's not that bad even though I lost the wight too fast and already had a ton of stretch marks from yoyo dieting in the past.

I think the amount of loose skin you end up with is more genetic and how much weight you lost rather than how quick. It sucks but it is what it is I guess

What was your diet like? I can't get myself to stop binging on snacks and I just keep gaining weight no matter how hard I lift. I'm 5'10 197 and this is the fattest I've ever been in my life. Please help.

either way, stretch marks dont heal (they're scar tissue) so ill always have some amount of looseness. its about as tight now as it will ever get. also not as lean as i could be but tryin to put on some muscle atm

Yes, breast, skinless, no condiments with calories unless I'd cut out that scoop of peanut butter

32 oz a day, only allowed myself to eat at 8 pm, black tea and coffee and water only throughout the day

Veggies measured out but that usually got me pretty full, asparagus carried the day, but between keto piss and asparagus it was absolutely horrendous smelling

Morning fasted cardio with a cup of coffee, then workout in the afternoon, college any time.in between

If me and the boys went out drinking, I'd usually not eat anything or only bare minimum protein to make room for boozin

I let myself have a cheat day once biweekly, as long as I didn't break 5k calories it was okay by me

Seems the general consensus from people that actually lost a lot of weight is the loose skin is gonna happen to gas giant hamplanets regardless of duration of cut.

As for the surgery? I wholly intend to get that stuff cut off when I have the 20 grand lined up to do so. The plan after recovering from that is to use the scars to do a bad ass manlet (lmao5'10") Sagat copay.

Thanks brah. Ate 500 below maintenance for a few months just to cut the fat, the right pic was taken 3 weeks into maintenance+500.
I have been eating 100% non processed foods with the exception of a few cheat meals here and there.
Lots of bacon, eggs, chicken, quinoa, rice, egg noodles, whole grain bread, unsweetened shredded wheat, beans, tons of raw fruits and vegetables. My diet was complete shit last year i was eating fast food 10+ times a week

How the fuck do you do all that in 15 months?

Did the stretch marks disappear on their own? How long did that take?

Stretch marks are still there. The ones are my arms are mostly invisible I think.
But the ones on my stomach and back are noticeable, but at least they are faded and not bright pink like they used to be.

I trained a guy who went from ~400 to ~240. His insurance paid for his surgery.

He was worse off than you though. They had to cut off his nipples and restitch them in about 6 inches higher.

Dude's still lifting though. Stronk as an ox. I think recently hit 5.5 plate diddly.
