nah, it was hurting my wrists and something in my back (possibly rotator cuff).

max is 4 bodyweight chin-ups, but i'm gonna start a cut next week so they should improve.

your wrist pain can easily be alleviated by fixing your grip (assuming you weren't using the correct grip). shoulder impingement, causing rotator cuff pain, is all about form. if you allow the bar to travel in a complete vertical line it will happen. you've got to allow the bar to travel in slightly diagonal path.

but, even if you never do bench press, at least hop on a chest press machine

i tried various grips, and the bar path was diagonal.

i might try again once the pain's completely gone.

your wrists are hurting because you aren't concentrating on keeping them fixed, if you don't put your forearms into it the bar will bend them back and you'll be hurting them. Start small with bench, keep your hands a littlev further apart than your shoulders.

something with shoulder/back pain while benching.. stretching and squezing my shoulderblades together while benching helps a lot tho

Start biking and doing glute bridges along with squatting at whatever weight you can handle. Your legs will be plenty big enough compared to your body.
