>Thinks I get payed this much to be just a code monkey

The hours are very flexible but the pay is shit

I take boxes off an assembly line and put them onto pallets.

Too much goddamn bending over because the lines are designed for manlets, but other than that it's pretty nice. Lots of time where I can completely zone out whilst doing the work and just let my mind wander.

Not a career though. This factory is shutting down at the end of the year, only sticking around to get a severance check then going into trade school for plumbing or HVAC.

Receptionist/Admin.

>probably not going far with my life but everybody tells me i'm way too good at my job.

Salesman brah, dealing with fuckin' idiots all day but it's easy work and pay is decent. Easy to earn extra with commissions too if you're good.

Looking at tight teen ass all day.

I work part time retail and do some freelance work for a local consulting firm. Woman who runs the firm is a family friend, so she radically overpays me for shit she can't be bothered to do, running things across town, babby-tier graphic design, proofreading, clerical work, that kind of thing.

Do they ever flirt with you?
Do you ever flirt back?

I'm a student but I work extra as a tour guide.

Great job but tours are real gains goblins. No time for gym or cooking for several weeks.

Technical Analyst in the worlds largest retail support company. Clients include Under Armour, Disney, Michael Kors, etc. Mainly do Level 2 and Level 3 work.

What field?

Entrepreneur, investor and consultant for the tech industry. Graduated with a physics degree.

where do you get the training?

I work in retail.

Luckily, a coworker is leaving to become a manager at her old job, in IT, and she'll hook me up there, so my pay won't be completely useless.

gastrointestinal health, specifically focusing on the effects of chemotherapy in the gut and the effects of the microbiome and intestinal permeability specifically in diseases like crohn's, coeliac and obesity

onizuka?

Where'd you go to school?

Before I entered the company I had next to no retail knowledge. Never worked a day of retail in my life. I started out as a Level 1, bare minimum. Having said that I was fucking great at it.

You need to know logic, flow charts, electrical theory and a lot of common sense. I can walk in to pretty much any retail store and tell what I'm looking at.

IBM 4610-2CR Receipt Printer
Symbol LS2208 Scanner
Etc.

If you love technology and can build a computer you can do my job. But to be really exceptional at it you need to have programming and software knowledge.

Civil engineer.

Yes and no. I just feign ignorance and let them cock tease all they want. I give some of them a wink in the hallways if you count that as flirting.

Engineering student working at a golf course during the summers.

Technical sales. Corporate things, I'm doing this and my MSc at the same time for now. Once I finish my studies, I'll either go for a raise or a better paying job, inside this company (which treats its personnel very well) or another.

I had a job as a gas station attendant. It was more stressful than I would have thought.

>just got off a 10 hour flight after a vacation
>8 hour shift alone
>mind goes blank and I can't process a simple task (lottery or something, cant remember)
>line-up builds
>people getting angry
>teen girls flood the toilets
Not fun

We also frequently had armed robbers, I didn't experience it myself though, thankfully.

The moments I enjoyed most were when customers (old men, mostly) went on 10 minute rants about some new policy they didn't like, and I'd pretend I gave a shit. Some ceo of a local company told me he'd make sure no company car ever gassed up at my station again. He was upset because we started charging 1$ to use the tire inflation device. I told him I'd pass his complaint to the manager, but I never did. I hope he kept his promise.

Materialphysicist here

Marmalade cook

Man that sucks. I'm in ausland and work on the highway so it's the cruisiest fucking job ever; hell im here right now. Decent wage, permanent job, holiday pay, ect. I fucking love rage customers, they're my favourite. I also get a fuckton of FPS through here too.

My favourite part? We lock up at 10pm and no customers can come inside. That includes to use the toilet. So many people rage when I tell them no. Doubly so when I walk away and go use it myself.

how did you land that gig?

I started a supplement company last year, almost had a nervous breakdown because I was working 12-16 hours a day trying to get it off the ground. It's doing alright now though so it's all good.

don't you feel bad about selling snake oil?

seems a bit... immoral haha.

>tfw I have a penis and it helps me get jobs

oh cool, wont be good for my social gains but i'm in desperate need of money right now so im trying to get whatever job i can haha.

Applied online, smashed the interview. Been here 8 years. Done everything from nights to days and so on. What this user said is true; it's a pretty high turnover industry. Seems less so these days because ...
>$28/h
>leave loading
>annual leave
>sick pay
>permanent job

Example is I work 4 days a week, and finish the fortnight with $1300 after tax. Not great, but it's pretty solid for a job that requires very little brain power.

I'm a farmer, kinda...
mostly transform my raw materials into medical herbs, beer, liquor and shit.

Hard work but it allow me to work shirtless in the fields.

> applied online

ahh i doubt i'd get asked to come in for an interview then since i've never had a job before so my resume doesn't look too spectacular

it's worth a shot tho

Dude, just list some activities and such; if you seem like a motivated and hard working individual they'll hire you. Hell pop in a few times and make a connection, never hurts

Nah not really, I don't sell as the dumb shit you see advertised, 90% of my business is for endurance athletes (gels, recovery aids etc)

Yeah. The attractiveness of stable but otherwise shit jobs goes way up when the economy as a whole is in the shitter.

I did it for years on nightshift (and once made an absolute killing when they accidentally scheduled me for overtime during easter). Nowadays I make like $25 an hour on dayshift as a utility reader. Pays a bit worse but I get to have a social life outside of work.

IT project manager. vague shit, code reviews, scrum master, some software architecture stuff but i'm not that smart about those things

i do sales of ilegal recreational substances
i also work at school

Why not just smang them after they graduate and before they leave for college? That's what I would do.

Paramedic.

I sit at home now for work and run a company half the day five days a week. Free to lift and do whatever I want for usually 10 out of 12 hours, work nights. If I want to leave and do extra work I can and make 30-40% more, but don't have to. ~40k annually.

Just finished the second year of my undergrad in Biotechnology

Looking to get a lab-bitch job someplace that has a desire to underpay desperate undergrads who need work experience. Unfortunately most places like this require that I actually have the degree first even though a monkey could be trained to do what I would be doing

But I definitely don't want to work retail again. Dealing with the public is the fucking worst

Im a graphic designer but I just quit so that I could join the army

Chef. Literally worst fucking job
>long hours

Cactus farmer

Chemical engineer. Currently process R&D in bleaching chemicals 4 pulp & paper industry

Medical student.

The cons are predictable: long hours, no money yet.

The pros:

-high level of education on human body + continuing research, able to tell truth from lies re: fitness & nutrition

-lots of motivation. My peers let their bodies go to crap for their career, they're 30, look like they're 55, and move like they're 85 in a nursing home. Every day I see fat people taking 15-20 medications, then I see their leg amputation surgeries and directly see the crisco clogging their arteries. These people give me all the motivation I will ever need.

tell us about truth from lies things.

how do I get this skill?

Well, we spend 2 years learning the TL,DR version of all the science to date on how the human body works, then we get subscriptions to services like UpToDate so we can look new stuff up on the fly.

It makes you pretty savvy if you put in the effort.

If you can post a time stamped picture of your eyes to prove that you're white, I will tell you where to get all the info.

bio lab tech at big pharm company

Because the white man is superior.

Because only white people are good, I need proof that someone is white before I will voluntarily help them.

How are you liking it?
