Coffee Drinkers

To you guys who drink coffee on a daily basis, do you ever get in those little slumps?
If you do, how do you cope with it? I usually just drink more coffee, but then I just have to keep drinking more coffee. It's almost like a high.

I know just what you mean. Sometimes I'll just make and drink coffee when I'm bored and don't know what to do. It absolutely is a high. Sometimes after I've just been moping around the house getting all jacked up on coffee I'll go burn off all that energy doing some HIIT or go for a long bike ride.

If I don't drink coffee I honestly feel depressed and moody.

I hate that shit.

who /toastedhazelnut/ here?

I enjoy coffee for the ticket to the early morning poop train. And well the taste and all that. Two cups every morning but I can go without for days and not care. Never had caffeine addiction or withdrawals as far as I am aware.

I occasionally will not drink it for a few days, fight through the headaches and reset my addiction to it every once in a while. Nothing better than a cup after not having it for a week

adderall plus balck coffee= easy optimism. Not a high at all, just a little bright kick. I take 5mg btw

those dubs

I usually enjoy black coffee any time of the day. Best bean is Costa Rican bean followed by an Ethiopian bean. Holy shit brehs why is so coffee amazing? Also its the GOAT drink when you're on a cut.

Which coffee machine should I buy guys? Id rather make my own than buy each cup of black coffee for like 2$ ea

>Costa Rican bean

Oh man the coffee in CR is amazing. I fucking lvoe it. Wake up, puond two cups and then head out on a 15 mile hike up a volcano, without any noticeable grogginess or hunger.

Havne't tried any ethiopian stuff, but the best cofee I've had in the states is something called Love Buzz. They had it at the natural grocery I worked for and it was amazing but around 15USD/lb.

Instant coffee + caramel macchiato creamer

The cheap drip you get for 20-30 isnt' bad, but obviously can't compare with a genuinely good coffee maker. There is a huge fucking spike in quality that goes along with the equally huge price jump.

Get a french press, mate. It's more work but you can't beat it for under 100 bucks.

If you ever get chance try the Guatemelan Antiguan bean it's bretty good. tbqh pham i think Central American coffee in general is the best coffee around. Recently been hooked on some Peruvian coffee though. Shits quite insane.

Also who /v60chemexorfrenchpress/ here?

I use a chemex and a French press. Just depends if I'm looking for coffee's body or note clarity, both are good. I get my beans from a local roaster and sometimes ship from my favorite place in Portland. It's really easy to make good coffee and it's way cheaper too.

Time your coffee intake.
Me
>upon waking (before workout)
>when I get to work
>right after lunch

Who /icedcoffee/ here?
Just put freshly brewed coffee in the fridge, wait til it cools down, add ice.
Fuckin delicious

It's nothing but a social lubricant for me. I don’t need it to stay awake, only to be pleasant around others. It makes life seem worth it for brief periods of time.

Once I tried giving up coffee and porn at the same time(drink 8-10 cups of coffee a day)

I thought I was gonna die

Suggestions on the best supermarket coffee?

Don't get supermarket coffee, that shit's disgusting. Just go to a local roaster. Most local coffee places at least have decent coffee, a small stand even sells blue star which is pretty decent.

Just did this.
I usually brew a lot of coffee and drink some of it hot, then when I feel like I don't want any more I'll put the rest in the fridge.

How to make black coffee like starbucks or tim hortons? Right now I'm just putting a spoon of nescafe into hot water but obviously that tastes like shit.

>how do I make black coffee taste like Starbucks

Put toilet water into coffee pot with old Starbucks grounds.

Why tf would you want coffee to taste like Starbucks?

IDK man I'm not a coffee connoisseur.

Here I'll help you out man. I actually used to like Starbucks. You'll be able to identify good and bad coffee a lot better by drinking good coffee. Either get a chemex or a French press, they're not that expensive. As far as coffee goes, experiment with any local roasters, they're usually super nice and fun to talk to. There's a lot of great coffee out there. With good coffee you'll be able to taste tobacco, chocolate, almonds, strawberry, cherry or a lot of other things. You don't need to be a conesuer to enjoy good coffee.

>le hating on starbucks meme

for two bucks I get a decent cup of coffee almost wherever I am. No other coffee joint can offer that.

I'm 24 and have never drank coffee in my life. I'm just naturally hyperactive/ADD I guess.

It's just really weird to think that most people can't function after like 8 AM without coffee, but I can be up 18 or more hours a day and not really fall asleep or take naps or anything like that.

I also don't drink sodas, energy drinks, sweets or other sugary/caffeine stuff like that.

Their coffee is always too acidic, doesn't taste good, they burn their beans, and they overextract their beans. I just genuinely don't like it. 2 dollars is pretty standard for black coffee. You can get at least decent coffee at a local roaster or make great coffee at home for much cheaper.

Char-bucks burns their beans to compensate for using low quality ones. Plus people not in the know associate 'burnt' with 'strong'

150-200$ if you want a good drip machine or go French press for 20$ or so , btw grind you're coffee if you want better taste.

I did this when I fell for nofap, made it 28 days nofap and over 2 months nocofee

Best load ever
Best cup of coffee ever

I quit coffee years ago, why should I start again?

coffee does not phase me
i wish it did though i feel foggy as fuck 24/7. i do get every vitamin etc.

dont if you can avoid it.

Stimulants are fucked in the long run, yes even caffeine

Thank you, I needed that

When this thread was created it inspired me to brew another cup of coffee, which led to another.

I just blew out my asshole so bad I had to shower afterwards. Hope you're happy Veeky Forums

few thousand years of human civilization have done fine with them

Same here bro. Those headaches though.

people have known and used drugs (read: stimulants and opiates) from the dawn of human kind
if you want to be better than the rest, you need the upper hand, you need some kind of edge - and this is where drugs come in (which caffeine is)

How much coffee do you guys drink to experience withdrawal symptoms? I drink 1 - 2 coffees a day and I never experience this, can go days without coffee and I don't feel any different.

The reason that people who supplement with things like caffein get tired is because there will always be a down to an up. You get more tired after you caffein boost wears off.
You have more energy becaue you down cycle from high to low several times a day.

>tea is bad for you

What about nespresso machines Veeky Forums ?
I hate cofee from drip machine tbqh.

thisss, in summer it's the perfect morning drink, i drink it every morning

huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/30/best-coffee-brewing-method_n_5233438.html

Excuse the use of CuckPost. But there are many better ways to brew coffee than machines.

>Coffee Drinkers, do you drink coffee?
>sometimes i drink coffee then i drink more coffee
just kys already you mouthbreathing baboon

it seriously turns me into 3x the producer I usually am at work

It's not a big deal as long as you're keeping yourself limited to under 400 mg of caffeine a day

I was up at about 4-6 cups every day for like a week straight and then I took a couple days off. my energy, work, and focus were pretty bad for a couple days and then things were back to normal.
Thing about caffeine is that it's only a mild stimulant. yeah, you can get sort of addicted to it, but there are far worse options.

I drink one cup of Nespresso every morning, add 300mL semi skimmed milk to it and pour my cereal into it

yeah, no. If you had a job that seriously required a lot of your time (read: a job which is to be taken seriously) you would know that is short route to a burnout.

Stimulants do not create energy; you just borrow it. And if you are already running at 100% capacity (e.g. working 12 hours a day AND staying fit AND pursuing educational goals AND socializing), proper planning and rest are the only way to consistently succeed.

>implying consistent 12-hour days wouldn't take more of a toll than caffeine
Your point has some merit, but let's not act like coffee is poison.

no it's not and it can even help some people allocate their energy more efficiently (e.g. work extra hard during busy times or at gym and then make it up by resting more later on); but what I am saying is that if you take that busy schedule as a given and barely have time to rest anyway, pushing yourself even further by using caffeine will ultimately not be sustainable (I had to learn this the hard way, and it took quite some time to unfuckle my shit)

Starbucks whole bean, grind it yourself before brewing

It makes a difference

Nespresso machines are awesome for espresso. Morning lattes are gdlk dont fall for the fit black coffee meme

/Roastedhazelnut/

But drip coffee is amazing if you know where to get some. Usually coffee houses have quality sources beans which make them amazing. Houston is an amazing coffee city, but not a lot of people know where to go for it or get their beans from.

If you gonna Make single cups, areopress is best bang for buck, good taste too if you regulate temp. I also like little stove top espresso makers. That with a basic ass grinder and some nice beans is the way to go.

>Don't get supermarket coffee, that shit's disgusting.

OP, if you're dealing with slumps try switching to black or green tea.

I switched to green tea. Now I regularly drink 5 to 10 cups a day. I stay more energized for longer and the constant dosing keeps me from crashing. Green tea is a lot healthier for you than coffee also, but coffee is healthy too.

>if you are already running at 100% capacity (e.g. working 12 hours a day AND staying fit AND pursuing educational goals AND socializing),
thank god no one here is doing that

>tfw caffeine withdrawal headaches

>I enjoy coffee for the ticket to the early morning poop train

This so fucking much. Nothing like a terrific morning shit after a cup of coffee

Kill yourself you piece of shit

I'm on break for college working upwards of 100 hours a week. Trying to find time for my 3500 calorie bulk is tough. Unfortunately sometimes I'm so exhausted I've even skipped a few gym days. Feels bad man.

>Period leakers

Tampax is also a thing girls.

3-4 cups a day five days a week with a two day block of tea in the morning and after supper.
That's how you avoid caffeine headaches and also avoid fucking up your tolerance for the mild stimulant.
