Warmup/Technique Work (Split Jerk Drills and Snatch Stuff)
If knee is up for it: Light Quick Back Squat 3x5
Rack Jerk 5x2
Power Clean 5x2 OR Clean Pull 5x3 (I'll see how my knee is again)
Snatch High Pull 5x3
Back Extension 4x5-8 (Goal is to go heavy, doing variation where you round back and lock hips, so it's spinal erector isolation, also 2 second hold at the top for isometric contraction/endurance)
Press 5x5 and Row 4x6 for the BEACH MUSCLES
Leg Press 4x6-8 or something if my knee can take it and I have time

Time Management:
warmup/tech: 20 minutes
Squat: 10 minutes for rests and warmups
Jerks: 5 minutes warmup/set time, 10 minute rests
Power Cleans/Pulls: 5 minute warmups/whatever, 10 minute rests
Snatch High Pull: Same, 15 minutes total we'll say, but perhaps even only 10
Back extension: 10 minutes or so
Press: 15 minutes to do all 5x5, maybe 5 minutes to warmup and do the sets themselves, maybe I'll cut some sets off to save time.
Rows: Should be quick.. 10 minutes?
Leg press: 15 minutes...

Total time: 2 hours and 5 minutes

Have you measured your limb segment to torso ratios? The formulas are in Gregg Everett's "Olympic Weightlifting". Some people (i.e.; "lanklets") are simply not cut out for Oly lifting. You can still strength train but you can forget about the Olympic lifts.

I ssort of have the same isssue as you, except I just power the weight. the bar is too far away from you during the first pull because you arent pullling it closer as your knees move out of the way.

You don't stay over the barbell long enough. Shoulders and elbows over the bar until you come to power position. And after that, you should keep your elbows over the barbell when you start to pull it up, so its a straight line.

this translates to more hamstring activation and faster pulls, not really keeping the bar close, know what you mean thouggh

1. Your setup looks more like you're going to deadlift. Lower your butt a bit. i can't see how straight your shins are, but they should be bent and the barbell should be over the balls of your feet

2. don't look at the ground, this is not a deadlift. Look straight or a bit up. Take a point of reference.

3. Don't rush the first pull. This will help get the second pull right, where you really start to accelerate the bar.

4. Keep your heels longer on the ground, until you come to power position. Then do the triple extension

5. You don't finish your second pull. Think about getting as tall as you can.

6. Your elbows don't stay over the barbell after second pull. When you pull it up, keep your elbows over the bar. This way you keep it closer to your body, and pull it upwards. The reason you jump a bit forward is that the bar gets away from you, this will be more significnt when you start to pull heavier weights.

Guys i just can't get any explosion to the lift if i try to just slide the feet like klokov. If i drop under the bar lifting my feet off the ground i'm much more explosive and fast, and can lift more. I see many olympians doing it like that, so is it acceptable? Most guys in my gym do it like that. And i love that sound..

YES. 'JUMPING' IS 'BAD' IF YOU DO IT BEFORE EXTENDING, OTHERWISE IT'S FINE. DO WHAT FEELS THE MOST POWERFUL AND NATURAL.

KLOKOV IS ACTUALLY A PRETTY UNIQUE LIFTER, I DON'T THINK HE'S A GOOD MODEL TO BASE YOUR OWN TECHNIQUE ON. HIS TUTORIAL IS ALSO CONFUSING AND NOT PARTICULARLY HELPFUL FOR A BEGINNER. I DON'T KNOW WHY IS IN THE OP.

Just had a look and could only find general chat about different body types, no formulas or anything.

I have trouble with my hands when I am snatching. I always seem to get wounds on both my hands, right now I have 9 open wounds on both my hands, this started when I started using the hookgrip. Am I doing something wrong or will it just become more dense over time and I will stop bleeding?
