Got a free olympic dumbbell today but it doesn't have any collars. Does Veeky Forums have any recommendations on what would be best so I don't accidentally crush my toes?

Get collars.

Like one dumbell?

clamp pipe wrenches to the sides of the bar

Yeah, just the one. I'm going to buy another but I need to figure out what I'm going to do for collars on this first one. I don't trust spring clouds to hold the weight if I'm trying to do something like a hammer curl

Spring clips**

Fuck autocorrect

Go buy a 4 set of springs clips. I use them for hammer curls and tricep extensions all the time, no problem.

And that's worked alright for you? How much weight are you throwing on them?

Only 30 lbs, but they're solid af.

hose clamp

you will cave your skull in or knock out some teeth using spring clips. get shaft collars

>"Olympic" dumbbell

Maybe look into something like this

yeah maybe if hes gonna start doing 4pl8 curls. just get the little squeeze wire things everyone else uses.

I really dislike spring clips as they have the shittiest durability, however it's the way to go with dumbbell bars because the collars are so short. This is kind of a thing for me on the rare occasion I use them because I prefer many smaller plates vs. few large plates. A pair of giant ass plates on dumbbells is unwieldy and awkward.

I much prefer the lock jaw collar on barbells though.

I bought some cheap springs over amazon and they work fine, even with 25s on the side.

Yes. A dumbell that fits olympic plates

So you can just use the weight that you use with your olympic bar.

Sorry names trigger your 'tism, brosephina

The ones that you screw down are the best for those.

What about heavy dumbbell pressing?
Wouldnt want a plate dropping on your face

Brotip: you only need the plates closest to the handle to be small, after that big plates wont really affect much of anything,

these are pretty good

Max weight is under 30lb?

So you can do like.. What, side lat raise and NOTHING else?

How much money did you waste on this shit?

kg not lb

Ok well that isnt so bad.

Oly are more versatile tho

£100 for both

i think they are more expensive and fiddly

>olympic hammer curls.
Sorry, I couldn't help it.
