I work at a warehouse with performance based pay. Base pay is $16 and goes up by $10 every 100% increase / $1 per 10%. I'm able to pull off around 500% a night but that also makes me lose around 5-10lbs in one night.

Correctional Officer

decent job, doesn't pay well, but there's plenty of overtime

How does one enter the field? Do you need a degree?

Ditto. Crystallography here. No complaints other than it being boring as hell.

Unless you're trying to get into federal Corrections you don't need a degree for almost every state DOC in the US. It's pretty much an entry level job. If you're looking to enter the field go to your state's Department of Corrections website and find out how to apply.

does that field help transitioning to become a marshal?

University professor. I'm lucky to be working in a country where SJW shit hasn't caught on, or I'd be out of this field and into diet selling/fitness coaching in a hot minute. Probably will do that anyway once I reach retirement age.

>don't correct muh language, it's a micro aggression!

Depends. I would say a year or 2-3 years of corrections experience looks pretty good on a resume if you're trying to get into law enforcement but there's not really any actual way to "get your foot in the door" with LE via corrections. The only reason I'm here is to build a resume. It also helps if you can get onto your Department's CERT team (riot control/institutional disturbance goon squad), that looks pretty good on a LE resume.

Not but most well paying trades are physical jobs. The older you are the more it hurts to put in a full day.

31 isn't kill yourself old but you on the wrong side of 30 if you're gonna be starting something like steamfitting or ironworker.
