>that fucking poster

Great fucking poster.
I've spent the last year lifting weights on a long steel rod, so all my weights have a 1" hole, now I've got an actual standard barbell but it has a capacity of only 300lbs and my DL is almost there, and I don't want to get an olympic bar because I'm poor and don't want to have to buy 2" weights. Is the weight capacity the amount it can handle before it breaks or before it bends?

...

...

idk what the fuck is going on with that pic but i can't rotate it

Do you live in Straya?

Your bar looks bent.

self made buffalo bar

It will start to bend. You can always just do higher reps once you aren't comfortable adding more weight. Gains = reps x weight. High weight low reps gives same benefits as medium weight medium reps

You're right, that looks real bad. But the whole picture seems kind of warped. Like the ceiling too and the pull up bar which has never even been used

The best way to acquire volume is always with additional sets instead of reps since it allows to lift with higher intensity.

Mark Wahlberg pls go!

Agreed, tragic. OP is fag.

Also, fuckin checked.

rawr!

found a dude selling the rack on CL for 150, decided to take the plunge and get the rest.

>wanted to save on plates because the bar was already expensive
>no used stuff anywhere because 50mm
>cheapest new 1pl8s are out of stock
>have to wait until mid august to order the power rack along with the 20s so my wallet isn't raped by shipping cost
>just want to start lifting

How long did it take you to get your home gym up and running and what kind of challanges did it pose?

what can I use instead of horse stall mats for a deadlift platform?

>How long did it take you to get your home gym up and running
2 weeks off amazon for full rack, bench, mats, weight stands
1 day from sporting good store for weights and bar

>what kind of challanges did it pose?
ceiling height. can't OHP without hitting it, so have to wide stance or do seated

buy / build an actual olympic platform or just stack a towel folded like 4 times if it's noise/damage you're worried about

spacetime curvature from the heavy weights

Need more weight. only have 80kg worth of plates

Also on upper floor so can't drop bar after DLs.

Will also probably rotate the whole thing and move it closer to the window so I can use the rest of the room as an office.

i hear you on the ceiling height.. my living room is the only room with a vaulted ceiling, so that's where my rack went.
>good to be a bachelor
>wish i was (more of) a manlet.

>80kg
>dropping bar on DL
lol

>bar in bench press position
>5lb of weight on the bar

Hone gym bros please also post your physiques. Very interested to see how a e s t h e t i c you are with limited equipment

>limited equipment
what else do you need besides a power cage and a bench?

not much. rack and bench that in/declines is all you need

there's some qol things i would buy if i had more money. leg press machine, calf raise machine, cable crossover, adjustable pulleys

you got a door you got a gym

>lifting for aesthetics
>making it
Pick one

My gym is You dont have to lift for aesthetics to look good. They will come from athleticism and strength.

>and I don't want to get an olympic bar because I'm poor and don't want to have to buy 2" weights.

>he leaves weight on the bar when not lifting

Suck a dick.

>dad starts using home gym
>only does 1 set of max rep bench and 1 set of 30 curls
>leaves 45s on the bar
>gets mad when i ask him to take them off
>"We used to leave the weight on back when I was in my prime"

Also got a wall mounted pull up bar through that door in the garage

So you can do benching and curling?

What's it like having a dick so small that you have to insult everyone you possibly can?

That's a perfectly serviceable home gym. He can bench, deadlift, and squat from that rack.

>putting the smaller plates on before the bigger ones

I do it sometimes. If consecutive lifts need 5s, put them on first and that's 2 less you have to chamge.

Don't be autism

>don't be autism
>be's autism

>tfw no ez bar
>tfw gonna snap my wrists up doing oly bar curls

it's don't

I'm that guy. It's easier when warming up, i can just pop the bigger plates on that's all.

i can turn the hooks around and voila it's a squat rack

i do rows and dl's in the area right behind the squat rack.

Are you retarded?

are you retarded?

what, you've never heard of warming up --- now I see what you're talking about.

Explains why you're DYEL lmao

I have a cage but no bench so I do floor presses
