>measuring the volume
>not measuring the weight
i will never understand this
The difference is negligible
What difference are you talking about?
depends on the cup
>figure out how many calories are in scoop of oats
>can quickly and easily get that amount every time
or
>get out scale
>turn on scale
>put container on scale
>zero scale
>put oats in slowly until you get the amount you want
>a but too much came out so you have to scoop some back out to get the right weight
>put scales away when done
I eat 200g of oats a day.
not for rolled oats. it might be a bit much for steel cut oats though since a serving is like a third of that
This is now an oats recipe thread.
Seriously though, anyone got any good recipes? Thinking of buying a bag of oats soon.
Thanks in advance, cunts.
I just stick them in a jar with some milk and leave it in the fridge overnight, shits delicious
1 cup steel cut oats
1/2 blueberries
1 banana
3 eggs
me too
Does the milk soak it up? Sounds worth trying, thanks.
That sounds good, too. I used to buy muesli and did something similar to that.
Measure your oats.
Add oats to bowl.
Add water or milk to the oats.
Microwave your bowl of oats.
Boom oatmeal ready to eat.
How much protein powder you guys add to your oats?
i do the same minus the microwave because its easier to consume
If you search for overnight oats you should get a bunch of recipes
I cook my oats on a stove-top and throw some sliced bananas, blueberries and strawberries at the end before mixing and serving.
Should I just microwave it instead?
i have 2 cups every morning, just bring it up to medium heat with 4½ cups of water and stir it around for 3-4 mins. its more edible if you add berries, a banana and milk to it afterwards. lots of cinnamon also.
it's an american thing. they also use the imperial system, what did you expect?
2 cups dry?
almond milk in quick oats
blueberries
almond butter
banana
you cook it on a stove on medium heat with 4½ cups of water until it gets a sticky texture, usually 3-4 mins
Only if it weighs 1g/cm^3
Ok but that's for a few days right? You don't eat that all at once
different lad here, i do the same and eat it as brunch for massive gains
5 scoops cmon
it's basically 2 portions but i usually have it all for breakfast. the oats alone are maybe 300 calories but are a good source of zink/magnesium/iron. i think 2 cups of oats are around 30% of daily recommended intake for all of those 3 but ur gonna have to do some research urself broski
I eat 1 cup steel cut oats for breakfast with eggs
I found microwaved oats and oats in milk nasty. I eat them in yoghurt with honey and cinnamon powder for taste.
You put the eggs in the oatmeal? That sounds nasty af
Anyone else here just fart constantly after eating a shitload of oats?
i just mix them with cottage cheese and bit of pepper and paprika, shit is cash
I like it. I can eat the oats plain with the taste from the eggs so no sugar or crap like that
THAT'S A LOTTA OATS
On the phone now but search for oat burger or oats patty on YouTube. Tastes like meat
The world of USA and their toys...
...
I'm assuming you scrambled the eggs. You don't eat that shit raw do you?
...
YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT?!
gee thanks for letting me know, I would have never guessed you weren't from the usa
how is it so hard for you people to grasp that measuring cups are standardized?
>metric cooking
>"Add 239.74892 decagrams of flour to 43.09998 centiliters of milk, flatten out to 0.3E-37 microparsecs and cook at 137.0004 centijoules for 11134.01010101 milliseconds"
Anything seems more difficult if you add more steps.
>get out measuring cup
>put measuring cup on counter
>start pouring oats into measuring cup
>put oats in slowly until you get the amount you want
>a but too much came out so you have to scoop some back out to get the right volume
>thank god for the gains you're about to recieve
>shitpost of Veeky Forums
>put measuring cup away when done
or
>get out scale and zero it
>pour oats
>stop when correct amount is reached.
best oats/porridge
I will never understand Americas
How do you live with measuring shit in such a weird way?
Why are people from outside the US such idiots when it comes to understanding any system of measurement but their own one designed for children and the elderly?
Rich Piana eats 2 cup of oats for breakfast
>americans actually believe this
>trying this hard
I hope this is just bait, and you honestly realize that using a scoop is much more convenient than using a scale
Who has the time for all that shit
My car gets 30 furlongs to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!
>1 builders mug
Wtf
Tell me..if you find..a Radioshack
>1/2 cup oats
>1 scoop whey
>1 tbsp peanut butter
>Tfw just had a bowl of oats and now want more..
oats, 1 scoop protein powder, some milk, banana
fucking amazing.
>oatmeal
and ppl wonder why they're still fat
>mommy never taught me what a calorie was
oatmeal is literally just oats, water and a pinch of salt
This.
This but with a dash of salt and some peanutbutter
>measuring the weight
>not measuring the mass
Despicable
>measuring the mass
>not measuring the amount in moles
Foul
>measuring the amount of moles
>not measuring amount in gmoles
top pleb
>tfw don't know the atomic mass of oats to measure in moles
Grab bowl of oats
Add milk like its cereal
Throw a soft banana in there and mush it
Add peanut butter
Add cinnamon
Fucking love it.
are you autistic?
you put the amount you want then weigh it to accurately count calories
you dont try to eat a certain amount of grams
that would be autism
Whats the point of this meme?
Really though, that's not even making fun of our imperial system. When a doctor says 1 cup of coffee a day, he means 1 cup. You have to be full on autist to try and use against the imperial system.
I go 400 desu
kek
I use volume for things that are really easy to scoop don't have large air gaps, and don't require cleaning the scoop, weight for the rest. Measuring oatmeal by the cup is totally reasonable.
I eat a raw cup (cooks to two cups) for breakfast with fruit plus a cup of yogurt plus a glass of milk. I'm 6 foot 200 lbs.
Does it fit your macros?
Guys you should really try this, it works. Its oat's patties that end up tasting like real burgers. It really works:
>1 scoop
C'mon
1 cup oats
1 banana
2 cups milk
2 scoops
Blend to consistency and drink.
no autism is weighing oats instead of going by volume
Its true though, here in the UK we use both, and I've always found traditional the measurements the best for cooking.
I just don't really eat carbs as a meal I'll add oats to my omlets and other cheap sources of protein I"m not sure if I"m doing it right losing weight though
>not eating a mole oat flakes every single morning
A cup of oats should be the minimum you eat, 2 cups if it's rolled
*a mole of
How the fuck can a unit of measurement be "best"? Are you fucking retarded and need to count everything out loud on your fingers or something? Imperial is retarded because of it's arbitrary conversion, like ounces to a gallon or ounces to a pound or inches to a foot. It's archaic and deprecated and the only countries that use it is the US and some african shithole. And inbred brits.
>1 part oats
>1 part milk
>1.5 parts water
>2 Teaspoon of coconut oil (optional but it's easy calories and makes it slightly smoother
Stick on the hob on a low heat for ten minutes whilst you get a shower. If your set on steel cut oats soak it overnight.
God tier consistency, extra good if warm milk makes you queasy in the morning.
>not eating lmao3scoops and a scoop of whey for maximum breakfast gains
That's the minimum I eat. The half cup usually recommended serving is fucking tiny. Are you like 5'2" 100 lbs or something?
oats and milk and honey
oats and blueberries
oats and raspberries
oats and raisins
oats and local maple syrup
I eat a kilo cooked so nah
>1 cup steel cut oats
>5 cups water
>2 scoops vanilla Muscle Milk
>cook covered on low heat (about 1.5 hours)
>add 1 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
>sprinkle cinnamon generously
>refrigerate
tastes just like vanilla pudding
