do you have any hobbies?
Do you have any hobbies?
Lurk on fit. Having a girlfriend used to be my hobby, and before that it was playing videogames. Now I have neither and can't enjoy videogames.
Any other college bros who's hobbies are primarily studying?

Start? I'm the Montana guy, but you should probably START at a rockclimbing wall if you've never done it before, then move to outside harness and what not
Fuck it, golf is more of a sport than videogames. The point is to get outside and use your body.
Would you advise getting fit first before I start a sport? I played soccer for 8 years but knee bullshit took me out.
I was just saying that you've got some pretty sweet hobbies. I was asking anyone else living in England about the rock climbing. But thanks for the tip, if you've got anymore advice on the topic I'd be willing to hear it
depends on how unfit you currently are, and the your general athletic ability. also, they are not mutually exclusive; you can do both.
golf is awesome and requires more athleticism and mental endurance than most people realize. being able to put a tiny ball into a nearly equally small hole 400 yards away in 4 shots 72 times in a row while walking the entire distances is fucking surreal.
I agree with you but is boring af
Cruise craigslist or garage sales, you can get an awesome Yamaha Clavinova or similar for cheap as shit. (Get the full keyboard one.)
I volunteer for a shelter
>tfw drawing, fitness, and read too
>tfw the other user assumes ur a grill
>but I am a dude
Abused women's shelter? Those are GOAT for picking up hotties. They will want someone to talk to and you just have to be there until they want more. They'll put out and then always end up regretting it and going back to their abusive guy/husband.
It is time.
I try to read a book a week, started cooking as a hobby after years of doing it as a sidejob, play rugby and chess at least once a week. Some vidya. Not watching TV and limiting my shitposting to about an hour a day helps a tonne.

Emperor's Teeth, user! You have to ask here on Veeky Forums, of all places?
elaborate about ebay. Where do you source your products.
Used to source mine in thrift shops because I enjoyed it anyways but now everything is picked over and way too expensive. 4$ for a used t-shirt wtf.

Chess tournaments. Thought I was a good player until I started playing in these - 3 years later I still suck, but much better.
Masturbating to Japanese porn.
This includes meticulously cataloguing and organising my 2-terabyte-large (and ever-growing) collection, of course. It's not as simple as you might think.

>Not using Vallejo colours.
>"So user, what did you do over the weekend?"

I do research. It builds real camaraderie if you are collaborating with someone.
>I do research
Alright I'll bit. In what?
i dont need another hobby which keeps me locked into my room the whole day but thanks anyways
Well if you have money you should get your pilots license, I know that's fun
23 yo student ... the one thing i dont have is money
I'm a research assistant, so I do computer vision stuff in my day job. In my free time, I invest my time in more gimmicky stuff. This is the abstract from a recent manuscript:
In a virtual reality application, the user's incarnation in the virtual environment is called their avatar. The perceptual systems of the avatar are interfaced to the perceptual systems of the user for the user to perform tasks in the virtual environment and identify themselves with the avatar. While the avatar is a human in many applications, it can also be non-anthropomorphic. In this case, interfacing the perceptual systems becomes a challenging task. In this study, three alternative methods for interfacing will be presented, namely abstraction, direct interfacing and analogy. The main focus of this study, analogy, is the case in which data from a perceptual system of the avatar is processed and interfaced with another perceptual system of the user. While designing this analogy, either self-identification or task performance can be prioritized. The design decisions regarding these prioritizations are discussed and the proposed hypotheses are tested with experiments in which an antennary perceptual system is interfaced through visual and haptic senses.

what the fuck kind of hobbies involve doing stuff on weekends
seems you cant do shit without a social circle
I wish. I have a ton of interests but they all cost money I don't have or time I don't have either.
>rugby is cheap at school but I ALWAYS have a mandatory lab or recitation during one of the two practices
>other sport clubs I'm not even interested in are the same situation
>model UN is cool but costs tons of money to do anything in
>had a blacksmithing/welding/smelting type class that I loved, but can't take the higher classes or use the studio unless you're a sculpting major or pay out of pocket. Also can't afford a furnace, oxy torch, or have the space for it and materials
>like cooking but no money to get the fancy gadgets or afford the fancier ingredients to make the cooler dishes
>always wanted to do martial arts but no money
>always wanted to travel but no money
>don't even have a car anymore to borrow a school kayak and kayak because this drunk bitch totalled my car and had no insurance
Literally all I have is reading, hiking, and lame shit like video games and movies that nobody cares about. Everything cool or fun costs too much fucking money or is during something I can't change. It fucking sucks. I have ton of interests and would do multiple hobbies if I wasn't impoverished.
Oh and I've always wanted to learn the violin, but I looked up prices for a lower end full size violin and some lessons and it was so fucking pricey. Literally everything costs so much money, all I can do is pirate everything because I'm poor. I even pirate my fucking books now.
Doesn't sound much like research. What's something new that you've done?
