I had 2 MRT

I've had one head CT scan. It was on some new machine and it took like 5-10 seconds. Nothing ended up being wrong, which then annoyed me that I got a fucking CT scan only for there to be nothing wrong and I could have just not gotten it. I was scared of getting brain tumor for like a solid two weeks afterwards, but all of the research I've done tells me that CT scans really don't give off enough radiation to statistically increase cancer risk, and that the head CT scan is easily the safest CT scan to get if you're an adult simply due to how resistant to radiation the brain is. It seems that the people who are actually at risk are children under 5 years old, and even then, looking at the rates of brain cancer in children(0-5) to guys my age(15-24), it's not even double, and children are usually getting head CT scans specifically because a doctor thinks they have brain cancer, so it's sort of a correlation =/= causation thing. Brain cancer rates haven't really increased since 1975 when the CT scanner was introduced(which was mostly used for head scans) and these were older machines that used more radiation. In fact, almost no cancers have increased in incidence. Cancers related to obesity have increased, so a couple of abdominal cancers. That's it.

I'm a huge hypochondriac.

What the fuck is an MRT?

Had an MRI last year on my pituary gland. Nothing more of interest tho..,

an MRI isn't related in any way to a CT scan.

That picture is an MRI machine. It uses magnets. Only a worry if you have metal inplants or shards of metal in your eye from using a grinder.

no it isn't. MRI machines are a tube that you go into. ct scanners take "slices" and you move through them quickly while it's scanning. you don't sit stationary in a tube for a CT scanner. it's just not how they work.

I've had a standing CT scan on my jaw, I was standing still and the plates rotated around me.

I've also had one MRI on my shoulder, it was an "open" one which is also pretty claustrophobic and it took fucking forever. It's really loud inside so they give you ear plugs. They make around 5 types of scans, so the frequency and noise change. It's not a pleasant experience.

that's not a CT scan, unless you mean something like atlanta-dental-implant.com/x-rays.php

I haven't even been the doctor in 15 years. I'm 30.

I did go to the dentist a few gears ago and they said everything with my teeth was Gucci

Oh you are right, I've had that one

you haven't been to the doctor since you were 15? lol what the fuck

I know right? i haven't vomitted since 1996. Can't remember the last time I had a cold.

Three, all for a single root cause. Two were wide-view, the third was heart only.

NMRI in english

why did you get them?

Myxoma - essentially a lipoma (fatty benign tumor) inside a heart chamber.

I'm not sure if I had one or if it was the other kind.
5 years ago, I crashed into a car while riding my bike, and the doctors thought I might have a fracture in my head (I didn't).

There's really no need to if you aren't hurt or suspecting you're hurt, need blood work done before or after a steroid cycle, or a sign-off on something. Apart from the event mentioned above, I've only seen my doctor to get him to sign off on the RSTC papers that cleared me for a scuba diving course.

>fracture in my head
yeah you got a head CT scan. was it a fast procedure? like you went to the ER and they gave you the scan?

yeah MRIs are really retarded. they take forever and they're stupidly loud and expensive to do. the fact that the tech hasn't changed in like 30 years is fucking dumb. even CT scans have gotten way, way better than they were back in the 80s.

Probably 10ish. Maybe 15.

What for user?

Lots of injuries throughout my life.

and you're legitimately talking about CT scans like in OPs picture? man you need to chill out kek what the fuck are you like a stuntman or something

None.

Over 400 hours in a nuke lab tho. Feels cancerous man.

What's a nuke lab?

In most countries they're free, so better safe than sorry if they think something is wrong

Maybe they're uncommon in America, where they charge $10,000 for a scan

Nice 38's though

A laboratory focused on the use and study of radioisotopes and their emissions.

They're anything but.

How is this /fit related?

I had one done about a year ago.

To scan my Spleen.

one ct scan last year

>that feel when you get iodine

2. One as a kid, one this year for kidney stones.

Here's a tip: Don't get kidney stones. Fuck me that hurt. I now have the bladder control of a 50-year old lady.

>In most countries they're free,

No they aren't. You can get them 'for free' in countries with socialised health care, but they are still expensive as fuck. We all pay taxes and insurance fees for them.

I'm not sure what my issue is.

I don't think I have the same sense of fear as most people. I do what I do for keks, honestly.

I live in America. Wealthy family, so it's no issue

I may be getting CT scans and MRIs confused.

Together with both, I've had 15

D-do you wear diapers?

MRI is like a big tube you lay in for like 30 minutes. CT scan is like the OP and only takes a minute tops.

2, one of which I had to get contrasted for. Lucky that bone tumor was benign or else I'd never be able to lift again.

they don't cost that much in the USA. under $1000. insurance covers it you europoor

4 or 5
Brain x3 , Brachioradialus, Stomach

Why did you need them?

Epilepsy, High Blood Pressure and Empty Sella Syndrome (low test)

MRIs actually but yeah

I work for a CT department, AMA

how many scans do you give every day? what are the most common scans?

you literally had no reason to post ITT

What do you personally think of all of that radiation scare stuff?
