I used to be a body builder, and I was honestly decently big (175lbs 4% bf). I got mixed up with heroin after about 2.5 years of working out though and lost all that weight. My girlfriend has been complaining about needing to lose weight, and I want to get back into working out and gain wait. I'm trying to convince her to start going to the gym with me, because not to be a dick but she kind of should lose some weight.
Do you bros have any tips for me? I'd love for her to go with me because not only will she lose weight but it'll keep us both motivated.

Sounds like a sad story
Do it for yourself, improve yourself. To me it sounds like you got caught up with shit and are looking for a way to get back into what you already know.
As for your gf, she complains about needing to lose weight. If she can't make the conscious effort to go work out then I'm sure you can do better.
Good luck with everything bro.

It wasn't the best time of my life. I lost like 60lbs because of that shit, and it caused me so much trouble. Clean as of right now thankfully.

yes do it for yourself. when convincing her make it a couples thing so she can feel she is advancing her social life. that is the only way she is going to go to the gym. how you do this i don't know but this is all the advice i have time to share.
it may get to the point she gets so flabby that you have to break up with her.

Out of curiosity, did it have anything to do with you gf?

I towards the end of all of that happening, right around when I was thrown out of my house. In the beginning she told me she'd leave me if I used again which helped me stay clean. I recently learned that she used to do it a lot with her ex, and she's now wanting to start doing it again with me.

That could very well happen eventually. It's just hard since I am going from benching almost 315lbs to benching, well...practically nothing.

Bro, please don't make it harder on yourself.
Cut it off and find friends that don't even have the thought of using. It may be hard in the beginning but you'll be started on a better journey for your own physical and mental health.
