Does anyone know of a better treadmill for less than this one from Precor (trm223)? All the review sites seem like marketing proxies, so I don't really trust them, and you can't really trust amazon reviews anymore. I can get it from a fitness store nearby for 2200usd. 7 years parts / 1 year service / 100usd after for repairs.

Winters are pretty bad around here, plus machines at the gym are almost always busy during my free hours, so I want to buy a treadmill to have a consistent machine for cardio.

I'm looking at this one because it's the same as the ones at my gym, and it seems pretty solid, but I figure it can't hurt to look around.

Go to a gym with a track. I guarantee you can find one in your area. $3000 dollars is an outrageous price to pay to be able to run.

Buy a rower. Way cheaper, better workout. Treadmills are a meme.

If you're gonna legitely use the treadmill often, by all means do not go cheap.

My local gym doesn't have a track, and I'd rather not drive 20+ minutes through traffic in winter plus paying for a new membership just to use a track, though I do indeed prefer that to a stationary treadmill.

Appreciate the idea, but could we stick to treadmills?

I wasn't telling him to buy a cheap treadmill, I was suggesting a cheaper, better alternative to a treadmill.

You can get a treadmill for free these days. I think the brand is called "Going Outside".

i looked a rowers for a sec and saw $1700. you know of a better/cheaper option?

Concept2, the standard rower used for competition and found in most gyms, usually about a thousand bucks. Not cheap, but a third of what the OP costs.

While running through two feet of snow in winter sounds like a great work out, it's not really my ideal choice. I'm looking for a good treadmill to use when I CAN'T run outside.

ill keep pan eye out for a used one

>Running in a foot of snow
Nah, thanks. Running outside is the ideal when weather allows for it, but in the winter that is often not an option.

There are usually plenty to be found, so many people buy these things, use them as clothes hangers, and then get rid of them a year later.

How about running outside? Winters are shit here too but I lace up my boots, layer up, and do it anyway. It's extra cardio having to plow the snow myself by running through it.

>not an option
No. It is an option. The problem is that you're a fucking wuss.

>living somewhere without plowed sidewalk
Never had this problem. Also if you're a runner, then winter running is preferable to summer heat.

Right. Anyway, I'm going for a run. If someone wants to be cool and suggest an alternate treadmill, I thank you. Otherwise, have fun, I guess.

We have--it's just not the answer you are wanting but need. Run outside during the winter you fucking prissy pansy.

>oh noes! there's snow in muh boots! get it out! get it out!

what are some things to look for in used machines? like parts that are most likely in need of repair
