I'm reading the sticky thread right now, though most of it i've read before, and I have several questions.
Incoming trap/cd/mentalillness b-tard spammers, inevitably.

Here's the deal. I'm a MtF Trans girl. My "Ideal aesthetic" is... what you'd expect. Slim, feminine, the usual.

The problems i'm facing:
I weigh 200 lbs.Skinny-fat - doing a little cardio (considering I do pretty much nothing extra besides work) would solve that problem. However, in the interest of health, and also getting to the way I want my body to be looking and feeling, I obviously need to lose weight.
I have a pretty broad back - Shoulders not so much, but my trunk is thick.

Here's my questions:

1. Motivation - Probably the biggest thing. I have problems staying motivated. If any of you have depression, or suffer from bouts of "Oh fuck this is hopeless", how do you combat that? how do you stay motivated to keep up with everything?

2. Diet - How do you manage to keep to your diet? Pretty much every "health food diet" i've tried recipes of tastes like ass. Any tips or links to clean, healthy, actually tasty food? Also, obviously, gotta have the right "Shape", so I know not all fat and carbs are bad. But how much? Should I stick to the Mens "Daily food allowance" considering i've been biologically born male, or should I stick with the women's?

3. Legs - Cardio is obviously going to be a pretty big thing for losing weight. I'm quite fond of High intensity interval cardio - Crams a lot in to a short time, lets me get it out of the way, etc. My legs end up dying 1000 deaths. What's some good cardio that focuses on other areas of the body besides legs? Any suggestions and tips?

4. Muscle focus. - i'm on hormones, Biologically born male. how is my body going to react to weights and such? I know doing weights helps, I just don't want beefcake status.

2.nonrestrictive dieting is the only longterm solution. Everything else fails given a long enough timeline. Make it fit your nutritional demands for the day.
3. Push ups and inverted rows? Burpees are my go-to cardio when barbell complexes are unavailable.

That being said there is no reason for you to train upper body, especially avoid delts.

Hip thrust and squat and deadlift is all you need, imo

1.Tips on not being a pussybitch? I don't really have a problem with the aches and such. I like the feeling of having a good workout. Just need to find ways to keep motivated. Anything help you when things make you feel like shit?

in regard to 2 and 3, I basically have no fucking idea what you just said.

2.The problem with food is that things like eggs, baked/roasted chicken, fish, that kind of stuff either becomes boring when eaten a lot, or just doesn't taste good in the first place (regarding eggs). What kind of stuff do you eat? What are you more lenient about? Obviously nonrestrictive is the only longterm solution, but how nonrestrictive?

3. Push ups count as cardio? What the balls are barbell complexes? - Suppose i'll just look it up soon, but more info would be nice if you would like.

4. . Completely understand about not training upper body. Deadlifting doesn't affect upper body that much?

Not that other guy but have experience with question1: I found lifting to be very helpful with depression/other psychological problems. Whenever I was having a fucked up day I would remember how well lifting went and about how far I'd gotten with it (startend out anorexic 6,1", 132lbs, now at 165lbs and strength has gone up big times) push yourself through it, no matter how shitty your day is, you'll feel better for it, trust me.

I'm incredibly hesitant to lift anything though. I am already.. Bulkier than I'd like to be (but not massively bad, I hope..)

For me, it seems that if I am stable, I can do exercise no problem, but the times I end up slipping and feeling shitty, i lose the will to do it. I'm looking for ways to possibly push past the shittyness.

Well I guess I'm no expert on losing weight in a healthy way, but I think as long as your lifts are consistent and you eat at a deficit, you wont look more bulky. You might start to see muscle definition though and don't let it freak you out. Godspeed Antoinette, you'll make it some day.

Also just count calories very strictly, exercise is secondary for now until you get down to healthy weight.

1. If you want it enough you'll do it, there's no way others can make you motivate yourself
2. Literally just eat less
3. A ton of reps at a fast pace count as cardio
4. Just your traps, and that will help with squats. Personally I'd recommend pull ups and pushups just so your upper body isn't flabby

m8 you should have more motivation than 90% of people here to exercise and lose weight. you have to look good to be accepted as a woman, particularly MtF. just diet and exercise. Stop eating bread, it's just empty calories and literally worse for your body than smoking or drinking booze.

Can't tell how much you need to lose but look up a BMR (base metabolic rate) calculator and plug in your height, weight, age, and gender (I guess i'd go with male unless you undergo HRT already) Eat at about 500 less calories than your BMR. You can eat absolute shit if you want, as long as you stay around 500 less than BMR.Do note, if you intend to subsist off of pizza and burgers get some multi vitamins.
Do cardio sessions once every day or once every other day. 1-2 hours long increasing in intensity or time every week. For cardio biking is low impact but running is more intense. There's no point in you lifting unless you want to be """"toned"""" Also you wont get to beefcake status without a VERY long time of consistent and intense weightlifting. Makes it sound like you fell for the "I went to the gym, looked at the benchpress and now i'm 240 pounds of muscle." meme. You'll see many people here lift for months-years and still don't even look good.
For depression if you don't already go see a therapist/psyc to get prescribed meds.

You can change your mental state, so many people work on going from angry -> calm but learning how to get pissed also has it's benefits.

Not not BMI, BMI is fucking retarded. You need a BMR Base Metabolic Rate calculator to see how many calories you burn just being alive. Eat 500 less calories than that and you'll lose weight. What you eat matters fuck all to losing weight, how you feel on the other hand will be affected.

None of your questions are really related to actual fitness, motivation isn't to do with your physical body, a fat unhealthy person can motivate themselves the same as a competitive athlete.

You're delusional if you think you're skinnyfat after looking at your pics, you're just straight up fat. Not deathfat status but fat. Let's get that out of the way first.
1. Everyone has different things that help motivate them. I like looking at fit girls or "thinspos." A lot of formerly fat people like fat people hate threads. The biggest part is gonna be discipline. Motivation waxes and wanes, you just gotta be disciplined enough to say no to cake.
2. Eat whatever as long as it's under calories. I like to cook in my crock pot for dinner for healthy shit since it's hard to fuck up slow cooking; meat always comes out super tender and you just gotta make sure it's in a good sauce or spiced well or whatever.
3. Swimming!! No wear and tear on your joints whatsoever, full body workout, fantastic cardio. Dunno if you'd get dysphoric about it though so alternatively suck it up and switch over to low intensity cardio.
4. Sqatz

Hormones: I know a lot of trans girls often gain weight while on HRT. Which sucks, but the good-ish news is that it's gonna be way harder for you to pack on muscles.

I'd like to recommend to anyone, not just OP, that counting calories and keeping a spreadsheet might be really helpful for both your motivation in training and in diet.

A big provider of motivation for any long-time task is being able to see that you're making progress. Measuring your weight and waist circumference accurately and recording it can give you the information that your diet is working each week when you can't see any difference in the mirror in that kind of time frame.

You could keep a spreadsheet or use apps that provides the kind of function where you archive your nutrition and training. When you have to write down that you didn't follow your diet for that day, you feel the disappointment and annoyance in yourself more heavily. So you start to avoid failing so you don't have to go through marking down that shameful point of data. Probably helps to be the kind of person who likes keeping neat records and can't stand the thought of dirtying them.

Also, being concerned with only your resulting macros and micros instead of what foods you actually eat gives you more freedom in what you can allow yourself to eat. You don't need to eat "healthy" food only. You need to just not get nutrients in unhealthy proportions. In fact, 25% of your calories can be almost whatever you want and then you just compensate your numbers with the rest of your foods. Choose whatever foods that you find taste good enough and provide the right numbers.
