/ASG/ - Actual Sports General

Alright Veeky Forums, I just went on /sp/ for the first time and was incredibly disappointed by the fact that it's all football and match results.

Let's talk about actual sports we play. To keep fit, for fun, competitively, everyone is welcome. I had the first swimming event of the season today and had a lot of fun despite not winning a single race.

I play waterpolo, it's like regular swimming but interesting.

What're your PRs OP?

Recently hit 22 seconds for 50 free long course

I played three sports in highschool. Football wrestling and track. I was the athlete of the year for my graduating class and im still Veeky Forums as fuck

I dont do anything in college competatively but i do intramurals and club wrestling. I also help coach at my local highschool.

Its cool that you swim, OP. That shit is harder than people give it credit for.

Anyone fence here?

Why are there so many swimmers on Veeky Forums?
swam jr/sr year in HS and made it to Regional with minimal effort. (started as low level-swimmer)

Biggest regrets are not joining freshmen year, and not training year round. I would have easily been collegiate level or higher.

also no...I live in the PNW and haven't bought my wet-suit yet.

...

Excuse me?

The just some bros broing it up

I'll be on a swimming competition for the first time, Im 23 so I'll be in the pre-master category I think. Been swimming for a year and a half, joined my local club because I wanted to take it to the next level.

It will be in a semiolympic pool of 25 meters. Im doing 50m breaststroke, 100m breastroke, 50m free and 100m free. My times are:

50m free: 36s
100m free: 1:19s
50m breaststroke: 43s
100m breastroke: 1:31s

I know they're shit and Im almost positive I'll get wrecked but I don't care. Any advice? also what are some good times for my events?

I used to row for my country.

Now I just coach. (And oly lift in the short intermissions between my knee injuries)

I used to play hokey a lot, now I just swim and lift.

Is bowling a sport?

I guess, you play it?

Used to. Club was three hours three nights a week, but I was still shit. Epee is most fun. Right of way sucks.

Yeah, it's the most athletic thing I do.

Hockey season just ended for me, along with all my coaching responsibilities. Now I've got nothing to do at the weekends ;_;

I really relish competition, and I've been playing vidya online to scratch that itch, bit it's just not the same.

At least I have lots more energy for lifting now

Is chess a sport

I play basketball. I've been to Vegas twice to play over there. I'm nothing special though

What channel is swimming on? Do i need to pay for a pass?

Minus 10 seconds from your times and you'll be halfway decent

I run cross country, mid-long track, and play tennis. Any other long distance runners here
