What happens when I get to a 1 plate OHP?

What happens when I get to a 1 plate OHP?

Will normies mire?

lol that's a poverty press, you will break the novice phase at most

Easy to hard
>squat > deadlift > ohp > bench >>>> gf

1 plate OHP is the only one I've achieved and I'm not remotely close to doing any of the others.

Even with my shirt off I don't have any visible shoulder muscles unless I raise my arms in the air (as is done during the OHP movement)

nobody will give a fuck

think of the most impressive lift you've ever seen at the gym and how little it mattered to you 5 minutes later

Nope, easy to hard for normal people.
gf>1pl8ohp>2pl8bench>3pl8squat>4pl8deadlift

wrong, easy to hard for all of those depends on individual leverages

some barrel chest t-rex armed manlet is going to smash 135 press and 225 bench real quick and have a terrible time with deadlifts, vice versa for tall long limbed lifters

You're probably fat. When I have a pump and the lighting is good, I have some pretty nice seperation between pecs and front delts.

>normal people
DELET THIS

>some barrel chest t-rex armed manlet is going to smash 135 press and 225 bench real quick
>5'9
>in the deadlift lockout position the bar almost touching my balls
Fuck, it all makes sense now.

I'd switch OHP and Bench but yeah pretty much this

yep, you're in for the long haul on deadlifts pal

enjoy your great bench and OHP mechanics though, I was deadlifting 500 before I could bench 225 and I wasn't even remotely t-rex mode

>tfw hit 1pl8 ohp yesterday
I look like trash so no

>normie gym
>nobody does bb exercises, not even squat
>everyone curls 24/7
>they have no idea how hard ohp is
>they look like crazy when you do farmers with 180 dbs

you mean for reps? Anyway, no one will care until 2pl8 OHP

I got to 1 plate OHP x 1.
wtf this is so hard. I can't progress in months but yes people mire.
>Oh he's squatting one plate...
>wait no he's front squatting...
>Omg it's a OHP

I saw this guy OHPing 2pl8 and 2 smaller plates I couldn't make out. He also squatted over 4pl8s and did 5pl8 deadlifts, never saw him bench though. He also comes to the gym with his gf and teaches her deadlift and squat form. He actually made it.

> OHP > Deadlift > Bench > GF > Squat

I've done 1 gf, and 1,2,3... can't diddly lmao4pl8 tho

...

I was 5kg away from 1 plate and I got mires many.
Then I didn't go to the gym because of wrist injury for 1 week.
And it went down to fucking 30kg.
Fuck me

fuck them feels bro.
>Sick for 1 week
>Bench goes from 225 - 185
>OHP 130 - 115

Why live.

>tfw cut then decided to focus more on cardiovasular shit for a bit and lost a lot of strength
>finally put up 175 x 5 on Military press again yesterday (bodyweight)
>get really fuckin psyched and look around and realize no one gives a shit

Correct but I got 3pl8 squat before I got 2pl8 bench. Diddy is only at 3pl8

No i have a 1 pl8 ohp, 2 pl8 bench, 2.75pl8 sqaut and 3 pl8 diddy at 160lbs and no ones mires.

i reached 1pl8 OHP and 2pl8 bench around the same time, 3pl8 squat came pretty quickly as well

still behind on deadlift, mostly because i've only done overhand grip and it's been failing me, been incorporating straps for heavy sets now and getting close to 4pl8

unless your starting point is skeleton mode and really low bodyweight you can reach 1/2/3/4 reasonably quickly with proper diet and exercise

to answer OP's question, i don't think most people would mire 1pl8 OHP because most normies don't do them and don't realize how heavy it can be

heavy bench or squats probably catch more mires because more people have some frame of reference to it

I think the skwat is the hardest to progress. It's always my shittiest lift. It's still in novice while my other lifts are in intermediate.

I think it's because it's harder to push yourself. I can't stand the feeling of my quads potentially giving out while hundreds of lbs are on my back. Gives me the willies t.b.h. lads. Failing a skwat ruins my whole week. Then you have to spend all that time getting the plates off so you can put the bar back up on the rack. Then there's that feeling of absolute terror when you un-rack it again and there's a high likelihood of just failing again.

With the diddly lift, it's on the ground, so you can go all-out and if you fail the rep it's still just on the ground. If you fail and OHP it's always going to be getting it past your head so you just let it back down to your collar and re-rack it. Bench can be terrifying depending on whether you have safety bars but it's more comfy than the skwat because you're laying down.

> almost reaching lmao3pl8
> mfw stepping back today and feeling that fucking weight on my shoulders
> mfw that first squat where you don't feel confident that you might be able to make it back up again

What is wrong with me? All for reps:

>diddy 1pl8
>squat 0.5pl8 (srs)
>bench 1.2pl8
>OHP 1pl8

Record yourself on all of those and upload it.

>mfw bench 2 plate easy but can't deadlift 2 plate lmao

brutal

>0.5pl8
>1.2pl8
Measuring weight in real number pl8s. I fucking love you spergs. You truly are my brothers.

>6'1
>long torso+arms
>short legs

>all lifts are harder for me

at least i'm not a manlet

Short femurs a long torso is actually optimal for squatting.

What the hell is wrong with you indeed

>mfw i don't squat

>so autistic he actually uses pl8 as a fraction to describe how much he's lifting
Fucking really?

The only conclusion I have from that is, that you have fucking chicken legs, shit form and don't know how to brace correctly.

This isn't even remotely true, I am 6'3 and I can do 1pl8 OHP and 2pl8 Bench but can't 3pl8 squat or 4pl8 deadlift yet.

I got them in this order:
>1 pl8 OHP
>2 pl8 bench
>1 gf
>3.5 pl8 didly

I front squat and switched to weighted dips after getting 2 pl8 bench.

It might be surprise to you, but even tall people can have short arms in relation to the rest of their body.

I'm a competitive powerlifter. My powerlifting gym is all across town, so sometimes I workout at the normie college campus gym.

I get way more mires in the powerlifting gym, even though those guys are closer to/above my level, because those guys actually understand how impressive f.ex a 2+ plate OHP is, whereas college normies don't.

>tfw 4pl8 squat, 2pl8 bench, 4.5pl8 deadlift at 85kg
>tfw yet to recieve a single compliment that I look good in real life

For me 3 plate squat is easily the hardest.

I've squatted 110kg but I think my max is barely below 120kg

65kg ohp, 105kg bench, 160 diddy

how much is 1 plate OHP in kgs?

>2plt bench

there's your mistake

This. I was breakdancing before so I was doing 1pl8 OHP with 1pl8 bench. Normies do not mire shoulders at all. I was called skelly because my biceps were small. No one notices how big shoulders are. They're just gonna say you have a huge frame...but it's delt muscle

>fool people into thinking you have good genetics
That's even better.

60

Depends. With 20kg plates 1pl8 is 60kg but with 45lbs plates it's 61.236kg.

It's not the height that matters, it's the relative body proportions. All the best deadlifters in the world are like 6' 3" anyhow.

1pl8 ohp press there, still skinny armed dyel faggot, ohp is the easiest

>squats are your only good lift

5 star post

190 lb bw here

>175x3 ohp
>235x5 bench
>335x5 squat
>405x4 deadlift

Goal by end of december is:

>205 ohp
>275 bench
>405 squat
>495 deadlift

attainable? I've been running madcow since mid july and had crazy gains.

also, 6'1" and around 15% bf I think

>tfw shit legs cause you never cared at all

1pl8 OHP 3 reps
2pl8 bench 1 rep max
2pl8 squat 1 rep max
1pl8 deadlift 3x5 (only started doing those like 2 weeks ago and am still struggling with form)

feelsbadman.
Used to have these classic retard meathead friends who would all tell me that you don't need to train legs etc. and I believed them. Had to take a break for about half a year cause of a car accident and started over some time ago. Now I want to do it right but I still got this huge muscle imbalance. Sucks I guess

I got squat and deadlift first because sprinting made me unbalanced as fuck

Deadlift, at least for me.
My back is perma fucked.

yeah except it's a literal fact understood by all powerlifting coaches you inbred, if you don't know anything about a topic (and you don't because you deadlift less than I did at 16) stop posting faggot
see above
long torso and short legs is the ideal squatting build, assuming your femurs are short and you don't have 2 inch tibias or something fucked up like that

also long arms and short legs is alright for deadlifting, not great but it's ok

everyone whos not auschwitz mode can 1 plate OHP.
So maybe normies wont laugh at you anymore.

no, they will see a bar with two plates on it, it won't occur to 99% of them that 135 is actually quite a lot to OHP as most of them have never done OHP before

normies only give a shit about bench press t.b.h.f.a.m

thread over lads, pack it in

I could literally do 1/2/3/4 first time I set foot in a gym

What's it like being a genetic peasant?

50kg ohp, 80kg bench, 150kg DL, 140kg squat reporting in.

What the fuck am I?

Idk, how does it feel to be a big liar?

not true. normies will mire a heavy squat or diddly. I probably get more comments on my squat than any other lift.

how many gfs though?

I'm a big guy, not a big liar :^)

I think the image should actually look for this:
6 pack or Bicep Veins or Delt/Chest separation or Quad Definition.
If you go for weight, these are baby weights.
I'm a bodybuilder training exclusively for hypertrophy and I do more than that weight for reps in high volume workouts in all those lifts (except deadlifts, which I hardly do, but when I used to deadlift frequently I did working sets of 465 for 5).
If you're training for strength you should shatter all these weights in your first 18 months easily.

There's a fat PL with a >2000 total in my gym who rocks a 3pl8 OHP for reps, he always overshadows my 185 1RM.

I hate him.

I had a steady rotation of 3 girls (tues\thurs\friday, around my lifting \ work schedule) but my oneitis is slowly making me feel guilty, so 0 atm.

full disclosure, my life's pretty chaddy, so cheating I guess?

I'd trade at least 15 chad points for a 3pl8 bench though.

you mean being white? its pretty wonderful

I've been getting compliments on my squat ever since I hit 225, and that was a couple of years ago...

To clarify, I've effectively pre-emptively friendzoned and been friendzoned by my oneitis. Because I didn't want it to interrupt my stud years. Which it did anyway.
No amount of working for good companies and living a nice life can replace the autism you get from 4channing since teen, fucking pathetic.

Yeah, most will.

But anyway, if you're 25 and never had at least a serious lasting relationship, you're beyond the point of no return. No bodybuilding will help, you've got some other nasty shit to take worry about, probably.

Maybe an exception could be if you've never really wanted one, cause you're a chad player or an asexual weirdo.

Hard to easy:
>squat, bench, deadlift, ohp, gf

I get compliments for my lmao2.5pl8 squat cuz I'm an unaesthetic chubby manlet and that's surprising to them, but even those come from other guys/girls that do compounds and understand what a heavy squat feels like

your average normie can't name any other compound but the bench or imagine using any other muscles but ones for punching things

What? Being white is like winning the genetic lottery. We're the best looking, the strongest, the smartest and produce more than any other race in existence.

>1.5/2.5/4/5
>only mired by dudes and old ladies, invisible to fuckable women
You faggots never prepared me for this.

1/1.5/3/3

Working on grip issues.

1 gf

Those weight goals are simply a matter of time and eating okay. 1 gf requires actually becoming someone attractive which means changing your personality

0.5/1/1.5/2 + change on each

who else just over half way

have you tried chalk and mixed grip?

I had grip issues at 2.5pl8 diddly, chalk was an instant 20 lbs increase and it's been going up linearly since then

Can confirm.
Got gf as a skelly years ago. 1pl8 OHP was fucking cake. Bench took like 6 months. Just hit 315 squat, 8 months in. 370 diddly and on the rise.
We can all make it bros, just put the work in and stop being autistic.

Deadlift probably.
5' 11" 192lbs bw

OHP: 195x1
BP: 275x1
Squat: 325x1
DL: 335x1

I think it's mostly cuz in high school I've always dead lifted with a hex bar and I'm still kinda transitioning to using a standard barbell. Not really used to having all that weight mangling my shins and knees.

mirin.
How long you been lifting total?
What sort of weight progression did you see on madcow vs when you started?

I play rugby and OHP 185 for reps.

I love when roided guys bring their girlfriends and im much stronger then them.

Yeah, people mire once you hit 185.

This black dude on my team OHPs 2 plates and played college football.

also I know my legs are disproportionately weak compared to my arms; I had a hernia earlier this year and I'm still recovering from that a little bit as well

You can already bench 275 based on your 5rm

If you OHP 175x3, you can absolutely bench 275 for reps

You're bullshitting. If you can't rep 405x8 right now you won't hit 495 in 3 weeks. Post pic
>you wont

.5/1/1.75/2.5 after ~1 year of semi decent lifting and eating.

How does one go about tying a noose?

>I think it's because it's harder to push yourself. I can't stand the feeling of my quads potentially giving out while hundreds of lbs are on my back. Gives me the willies t.b.h. lads. Failing a skwat ruins my whole week
thats why you never fail a squat, feel for that mistake when I started lifting

Now I that I have a streak its really easy to tell yourself "cmon dude you can push through it"

Squat is the marathon lift, you do NOT try and progress quickly but instead you track progress over 6 months to a year

>But anyway, if you're 25 and never had at least a serious lasting relationship, you're beyond the point of no return.

It's okay user, I'm in the same boat as you; let's be weirdos together and ascend the aesthetic throne.

I know, still, I got a 5 plate deadlift about the same time as I got a 1plate ohp.

Dat feel when scoliosis, raised shoulder, 6'6" wingspan and tons of shoulder injuries.

4years and I still have never gone above 65kg.

I don't get the hype about OHP being hard, I can 1RM a plate already with "decent" form and my other lifts are embarrassingly bad. Is it easier for lanklets maybe?

OHP 140 3x3 with ease gonna bump the weight up a bit. Still no mires that im aware of

I've never done ohp in my life but I bet I could do 1 plate right now

Maybe good shoulder genetics?
I dunno, 5'7 manlet here and I've 1pl8ed OHP long before I even got close to 1.5pl8 on bench
