From the ground is called a glute bridge.
From a bench is a hip thrust.
Glute bridge is a good way to learn the movement, or if you just can't find a bench, but a hip thrust with a bench gives you better RoM.

Almost entirely glutes.
A decent amount of hamstring.
Little to no calves, though.
It's just meant as a glute isolation movement, and is by far the best one out there for it.

The last one was some kind of glute exercies were they used the assisted dip/pull-up station and just pushed down the help-bar with one leg at the time.

Infinitely better than some BS yoga bodyweight glute exercise alternatives you'll see most girls doing.

I do them a lot as they have carryover for squats and deadlifts. and I like having a JOOCY butt.

That kind of stuff still works, but basically tl;dr, calisthenics isn't as effective as lifting heavy for either size, nor strength.

I fucking hate when people do retarded exercises in the gym. Why can't people just stick to tried and tested shit instead of stupid shit like curling with one arm and air punching a dumbell with the other arm (Someone literally did this today and almost punched me in the head)
