I took 5kg off my max on squats and ended up doing a triple with that weight, it was still fairly difficult. After the first cycle you can use whatever you get with his calculations, that are on the spreadsheet.

I'm using my tested max for squat which I've hit many times clean, but I'm using my 3rm for deadlifts because I don't like them that much
