what are your recommended healthy snacks bros
just cut all sweets out of my diet 2 weeks ago and i have a hankering for a snack that's not a fruit or vegetable, don't know what to do with myself
What are your recommended healthy snacks bros
cheese and nuts
look for healthy versions of snacks you normally enjoyed
for example, i fucking love french fries and i've been making sweet potato and carrot fries instead
I like apples and oranges. Can cut them with a knife pretty easily, and they have so much water that it's hard to eat too many of them.
ya but i ate french fries with ketchup
what's the healthy version of that
also what the hell are carrot fries mane
i got both of em in the fridge
but after 2 weeks i feel like i need something else
i just realized a banana would be perfect
Carrots
Have you ever eaten any Lara Bars? They're made from fruits and nuts and no added sugar. Come in lots of flavors.
btw you don't eat the cheese and nuts together do you?
if so you just eat plain cheese as a snack?
and what type of cheese is healthy?
so many questions dude, sorry i should google some of these
i been eatin baby carrots past two weeks mane
thing is i cant have them as a snack because i eat them on the side of every other meal
I fucking love pirate's booty. No homo.
i have not, ill check the store for them
these too
Have you tried a mug of water mixed with some natural/raw honey and pulp from a whole lemon? It's really tasty, healthy, and is basically fills up your stomach with water to stave off hunger.
Banana can leave a bad aftertaste in your esophagus for a few minutes, look out for that.
no, but i'm looking for snacks for when im not in the mood for a fruit
i feel like if i'm not in the mood for a fruit i wouldn't want a honey lemonade either
hahaha
what
Yogurt is the best snack.
Or low fat creme fraishe (240 cals 18g protein per 300ml cup, tastes like FUCKING CREAM).
It's kinda like reflux, but with no acid. I think it's the tannin in the banana playing tricks on your stomach.
i wanted yogurt, but i had thought that if i start eating it again i might get sugar cravings
i've never experienced this
I think it only happens when you eat banana on an empty stomach. The same happens if you drink green/black tea on an empty stomach, but tea may make you vomit (it has much more tannin than a ripe banana).
Stomach haet tannin.
i'm pretty sure i've had banana on an empty stomach before, but good to know all the same
good lookin out fampai
Frozen strawberries, the 0 calorie flavored water, and some ice will make a great low calorie slurpy if you blend it all up. Ratio is tricky to get though to get the consistency.
Those veggie straw things with some salsa (thicken the salsa up with a can of diced tomatoes/peppers).
Lettuce wraps- just get some nice romaine lettuce and wrap it around some sliced turkey/ham with tomatoes and pickles.
senpai
test
>veggie straw
celery?
and thanks for reminding me about pickles, i forgot that's the one snack i thought of before i made this thread
also as a side note are there any tasty, healthy cereals?
or does such a thing not exist
Kirkland brand protein bars from costco. Theyre literally the best protein bars I've ever fucking had. They're delcious and only 190 cals
Nope, these thing here. I'm a sucker for crunchy, salty things and this is the best one I found because they're hollowed out. 38 pieces are like 130 calories so you can snack on them without worrying too much. I would eat half the bag and some chunky salsa for less than 500 calories and that'll fill me up for a long time.
Then I'll either get some egg white omeletes or snack on fake crab legs for quick protein fix.
this nigga knows what up, these things are dank as fuck. jalepeno flavor is really good if ur into spicy. i prefer to dip mine in some hummus, so good
ill check em
i drink my egg whites raw
is it better to fry em?
hummus i can fuck wit
i'll definitely give this a go
It's not "healthy" as in it has no nutrients, but it's not really "unhealthy" either. A lot of sugar-free Jell-O and a spoonful of whipped cream has like 40 calories and is pretty satisfying.
Not really. They all have some form of sugar. At the very least, I'd grab Frosted Mini-Wheats for the fiber and the most balanced sugar content to fiber ratio. Honey Nut Cheerios is too bland, and Raisin Bran is basically a sugar overdose for barely more fiber.
Avoid any cereals with the name "Crunch" or 'Clusters" in it. It's also sugar overdose.
May I suggest Fiber One Chewy Bars, Oats & Chocolate? It's only 7 grams of sugar, but it has a bit of chocolate on top, and over 1/3 of your daily fiber for only 140 calories. I swear by it as a snack bar, way better than those granola bars at least.
idk, i just checked and apparently mini wheats sugar is 11g/100g
i'm only just getting into this health thing so don't know a whole lot about what's a good sugar amount, but miniwheats taste so fucking sweet i assumed they couldn't be good
why is the sugar to fiber ratio so important in bars and cereals?
i mean i get why you want low sugar but why the fiber
is that like the most prominent nutrient in them
I'm about to buy some kirkland protein bars. 21g protein, 14g fiber, 1g sugar and 190g calories.
because a huge misconception is that you get fat by eating fats
actually most of obesity (at least in america) is caused by too much sugar in the diet
>130 cals
>0 fucking protein
>eat 500 calories worth of this shit
>500 calories and 0 protein
holy fucking shit nigger you just went full retard.
eating wonderbread or fried rice would've been better.
Adding to this they have a low calorie fat free can of whip cream where the whole damn can is like 100 calories so go fucking nuts.
ya but i meant why compare it to fiber specifically
It's basically "Diet ice cream", like "diet soda". I think they use stevia instead of sugar.
I'm offering food on a cut for weight loss. If you want protein, balance that shit out with the egg white omelet or the imitation crab meat shit.
For snacks, I want something crunchy and salty and there's only so much popcorn I can eat.
OP, if you want something non-meat but protein being a factor, look up halo top ice cream for dessert.
It's actually good too. Have some of that oatmeal cookie flavor and it's damn good.
if you're on a cut you need lots of protein and filling food.
eating fucking PURE CARB AND FAT is the most retarded shit you can do.
You know what macros those veggie sticks resemble?
a fucking glazed donut. 50% carb 50% fat.
I bet the glazed donut tastes better too, probably just as filling.
isn't stevia that shit that joe rogan uses
>cheese is healthy
Fiber helps clean your digestive system (prevents constipation), it helps your stomach feel fuller since it absorbs water, and it also delays how quickly sugar gets absorbed into your system because it's bulkier. There's a reason fruit juice is so bad for you in comparison to actual fruits; all that pulp and fiber slows down how fast all that sugar enters your system.
with pretzels
Fucken filthy spicks
