Meditation for non-faggots

Cheeki breeki, Veeky Forums. Gotta ask how to meditate if you don't care about zen, buddism and other crap like that. Couldn't give less shit about opening chacras and the third eye. Just need to clean the mind, get my head and central nervous system in better order. Any guides you can recommend?

I get super high, listen to lo-fi hip hop and meditate.

use to do it alot and made a lot of healthy mental gains, ie better focus and concentration, learning to shut off emotional responses when i need to but lately it hasn't worked as much for me.

i find my meditating just focuses on silencing and not "observing" if you know what i mean, and the benefits i use to get are not there as much anymore.

i feel better lately but it could be from other things not related to meditation. recently i changed my diet a bit and started supplementing b12 and d3 so i could be feeling better just because of that. there's a lot of research behind meditation and it only takes 20 minutes so i do it anyway

Sit down in a comfortable pose.
Make sure it's quiet. Face a blank wall. Breath into your nose, out of your mouth naturely. Almost close your eyes. If you feel something or think or hear or sense something. Take notice of it and let it go. So you think about sending out an important email during sitting. Tell yourself: "I am thinking about sending an important email". Then focus on breathing again. Rinse and repeat. Your mind will scream at you for stimulus. It gets better. Start with 10 min. per day. Built it up.

I can attest for the headspace app. It's quite expensive, but once you are through with the foundation and headspace pro packages you can quit your subscription.

There's 2 main techniques I use to quell anxiety or restlessness.

One is envisioning a very calm environment. Easiest for me is to imagine a slow waterfall. You imagine yourself standing in the stream. The sound, the feel, the smell, the temperature.
You can either stay in this state, or you can try lose yourself by 'becoming' the waterfall. Feel the current you stand in, try to extend your mind along with it and 'flow' with the water.

The other style I use is called no-mind. I forgot the Japanese and Indian terms for it, but essentially, you completely blank out your mind, no words, no thoughts, no images. Close your eyes and focus on everything around you, sounds and smells, but don't linger on any of them. It's easier to focus on your breathing, but being careful not to engage your mind. Don't think about the breathing, just listen to it and feel it.

It already worked. It's just touchy and doesn't stay working.
