Holy fuck why haven't I heard of these earlier? Tried them for the first time tonight and it hit my delts and traps so hard without the uncofmortable shoulder strain I typically get with regular lateral raises.
Lu raises god tier.

So you do lateral raises with plates and then press them after you hit parallel?
god why are asian oly lifters so fucking hot
Basically a "full wingspan" fly with the plates. Not a true press motion.
Looks like it would also help with grip?
looks pretty neat. will definitely try these tommorow OP.
Likely depends on the plate style. I started light with 10s just to try and get the form down. I tried 25s and it was so fucking hard to maintain proper form much less hold on to. My gym, however, has the iron gym plates like pic related. More to grip.
Gonna give these a go next shoulder day, thanks op, yu a pretty cool guy
>yu a pretty cool guy
ayy lmao
Make sure you start at a "closed" position like he does in the in the video I linked earlier. If you start open it doesn't feel right on the shoulders.
chinese secrets
Fuck I wish I have his back definition, god damn.
do you mean
LUteral
raises?
What do you mean by closed position? The hands or the legs?
what a beast
My sides :D
>LUteral
RUteral
what difference would it make if I used dumbells instead for the same motion?
zero. they don't have dumbbells at OL competitions so they use plates instead
this picture really made me think
is he natty? cause he looks like a god
>Chinese strength athlete
>natty
Almost certainly not.
That said, you could probably approach something close to his size naturally, but you'd struggle with the bodyfat
Samefag
>/pol/ is just one person
i just did some of these with a couple of pathetic 5kg plates in my house. feels really good nad hits lats hard
>natty
how dyel are you to ask that question?
How does this hit lats?
I actually do these as a warm-up for my shoulders at the start of every upper body day
>professional olympic athlete
>natty
These would mainly hit the front delts right?
The whole point of the lateral raise is to hit the middle delt.
>olympic athlete
>natty

CRISPR - seriously doe they screen their 1.3 billion citizen for the best choice in every sport then juice them to the gills. CRISPR is in trial period for sure now.
YOu know when the first CRISPR chinks show up when they have Mao's facial aesthetics and built like a Sayan
kek, now lurking this thread for more CRISPR

you know he only uses plates because the international weightlifting halls dont have dumbells in them right
