God tier protein sources

Any DYEL knows chicken is the chad of lean protein sources. But what about tuna?

>10 oz tuna
>300 calories
>65g protein
>.5g unsaturated fat
>low in sodium and cholesterol
>no carbs or added sugars
>good source of omega-3s for healthy heart gains
>don't need to cook it if bought in a can
>don't need to keep refrigerated or frozen, keeps for years on a shelf with no risk of going bad
>tastes great even without any sauces or spices, whereas plain chicken is notoriously tasteless to normies
>no controversy over unethical farming practices, fish literally have the entire ocean to swim in and die within minutes of being caught, while chickens are boiled alive to remove feathers
>actually has HIGHER protein:total calorie ratio than chicken, making it great for cutting or clean bulking

Chicken may be the Chad of Veeky Forums foods, but tuna is the Brad - just as handsome and charismatic with none of the douchebaggery.

enjoy your man-tits

seriously though, i'd get sick of canned tuna. only so many ways to prepare it.

enjoy your mercury poisoning

>implying cholesterol is bad
>implying salt is bad
>implying unaltered canned tuna doesn't taste like ass

I always have half a dozen cans of tuna at least on hand, but it's not as great as you pretend

>tastes great

You must be eating some magic tuna because all the tuna ive had tastes like flaky chunks of dry vagina
I fucking hate canned tuna

pic related its the way tuna was meant to be eaten

>eating food for the taste
>ignoring micronutrients

Enjoy your no gains

>ignoring micronutrients

Good point. OP, you should be eating red meat for things like carmine and creatine.

>ignoring that mercury

Tuna is great now and then but enjoy your poisoning if you eat more than a can a week.

Best protein is skyr/quark. Absolutely God tier.

Lean pork has equal macros to chicken breast and tastes better.

Pork shoulders have similar macros to chicken legs but taste waaaaay better.

>Citation needed

FSA states its actually safe to eat up to two large cans every single day. The mercury content really isn't an issue unless you're eating absolute shit-tons of tuna and probably other sources or mercury as well.

Tuna so good, it looks like salmon. Yummers.

>red meat
>it's like chicken with extra cancer

>implying red meat causes cancer

>things that are bad actually aren't bad because I'm retarded

uicc.org/iarc-monographs-evaluate-consumption-red-meat-and-processed-meat

450g (15ounces) a week of tuna etc and another 150g (5ounces)for shark and other large fishes. Stop talking out your ass faggot. That is the highest recommended amount. Due to heavy metal buildup in fish. Snapper being among the worst offenders

But pigs eat poop

Can you give me sauce on this user? Not OP but I'm a 4 can/week tuna guy

mate i think ur talkin about indians

Red meat = no

Just admit chicken is king

There is controversy over tuna farming because lefty cucks will never be satisfied. First it was because dolphins had a chance to get caught up in the nets, so FAD fishing was introduced as a dolphin-safe alternative, but then they started bitching about that because it increases non-dolphin bycatch.

Also muh mercury

How is pork red meat, you fucking mongoloid

it's meat and it's red

Yeah, when it's fucking raw.

Or are you saying that chicken is red meat, too?

Sardines. Macros of peace with no mercury

Red meat = cows, pigs, sheep, etc

White meat = chicken, fish, etc

What about salmon and tuna? What the fuck?

Are all birds white meat, or just chickens

This classification of red/white meat is fucking shit.

Mammals vs avians/fish. Pork like beef and lamb has more heme iron in it.

> fish
> what about salmon and tuna?

Pretty sure those are both goddman fishes

Really, faggot? But how the fuck are they white meat?

So the deciding factor is really just blood iron levels?

> could spend 2 minutes on google
> instead chooses to ask a mongolian basket weaving forum

>So the deciding factor is really just blood iron levels?

That seems like it, since the heme iron is what gives red meat its redness. It's also what's implicated in why red meat is considered a carcinogen. Heme iron is very reactive and too easily absorbed, which makes it more likely to form cancer cells in the colon.

How do you keep mispelling meme. The H and M aren't even directly next to each other

XD

cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/diet/cooked-meats-fact-sheet

It's when it's cooked at high temps or smoked.

Sauce: Med student

No, it's because recent science has shown the old, shitty science to be defunct. Keep up veganfag.

>muh metanalysis shows red meat has a weak correlation to cancer
>better ignore the studies showing the opposite
>oh, and ignore the nation's that have high red meat consumption and low rates of cancer

Literally the only thing associated with red meat shown to cause cancer are nitrates, and it's quite easy to avoid nitrates in processed meat if you spend a bit more. Try again veganfag.

Does protein the day before count if I wanna workout and fast on the same day ?

Was eating 4 eggs 2 big rare steaks and 50 chicken nuggets a day for 2weeks.

Eventually had to stop because my heart was feeling weird. I switched up my diet to a SUPER low cholesterol diet and my heart went back to normal.

I assume it was plaque build up in my arteries from the MASSIVE amounts of cholesterol I was intaking. high intensity Cardio and leafy greens and almonds fixed it tho

Sure bud.

Yikes

>work at fish company
>cut kilos of fresh as fuck tuna erry day
>Eat fat tuna steaks at home

You niggers dont know tuna if you ever only ate canned shit

I eat tuna 1-2 times per week and I haven't had any problems what so ever.

That sounds baller aside from the mercury.

>chicken
>tuna

Turkey is the true GOAT option.

Why would any non pro bodybuilder eat lean chicken breast and tuna?
>Pork tenderloin
>Eye of round steak
>Skirt steak
>90% ground beef
>Chicken breast with skin and bone
>Chicken thigh
>Salmon and tilapia fillets
All these foods are lean and have important micronutrients. They are also cheap and tasty. Eating lean chicken breast year round is insane which is why no bodybuilder does that shit they just eat it for cutting.

PMSF is a very effective tool for cutting and chicken breast and cod are two of the only protein sources lean enough to make it work

Bulking on ground beef is fine lel

That's another cause of cancer. Heme is also carcinogenic.

dceg.cancer.gov/tools/design/charred

>Diets containing substantial amounts of red meat may increase the risk of various types of cancer. The association with red meat intake may be due to a combination of factors, such as content of fat, protein, and iron, and/or meat preparation (e.g. cooking or preserving methods).

hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/2015/11/03/report-says-eating-processed-meat-is-carcinogenic-understanding-the-findings/

>Cooking – especially high-temperature cooking including cooking meats over a flame (e.g., pan-frying, grilling, barbecuing) – can also produce carcinogenic chemicals, including heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAA) and PAHs.
>Meat also contains heme iron, which can facilitate production of carcinogenic NOCs.

aicr.org/press/health-features/health-talk/2015/04-april/recommendations-red-meat-saturated-fat-1.html

>There are several potential theories as to why red meat may link to increased risk of these chronic diseases.
>Higher heme iron content may partly explain links between excess red meat and risk of colon cancer, since it seems to promote formation of compounds that can damage intestinal cells.

>can
>possibly
>maybe
>perhaps
>hilariously weak correlations

Keking at these terrible, methodological broken, p hacked "studies" that vegans always post. Fuck off to your vegan blogs, nobody wants you here.

Welcome to science.

>that deep denial

Nutritional science is an absolute fucking joke. Every study you veganfags post would get you laughed out of the room in any real scientific discipline, yet you pretend like it's immutable fact because it ostensibly supports your cult. Sorry that reality hurts.

Of course, of course *pets your head softly* shhhhhhh

>Welcome to science.
You mean science that tells your shilled bullshit, hackneyed studies and pseudoscience to fuck off
>that deep denial
That deep projection

t. women's study degree. You clearly know less than nothing about science.

Have you not learned from the last dozen times you posted these links?

tastes great with a squeezed lemon and some olive oil

>skyr

YES

Did you eat activated almonds?
What kind of fat ass eat 50 fucking nuggets a day?

>Have you not learned from the last dozen times you posted these links?
Have you not learned to shut up when you don't know what you're talking about?

Someone post tuna patty recipe please.

>tastes great even without any sauces or spices

Fucking lol'ed, this guy didn't activate his almonds

...

I don't know where do you live but salmon is really expensive here
