>24/7 shitty techno mix 973 blaring through speakers
>only long haired guy withing a 100 ft radius of gym
>fellow concert goers are generally overweight and horribly out of shape
But hey, nothing better than blasting slaughter of the soul by at the gates while doing my routine

metal is for 17 year olds, and an objectively garbage genre of music
you need to be 18 to post here, OP
> not like me! I listen to RAP music! made by cool negro-I mean, PEOPLE OF COLOR!
> I hope one will fuck my girlfriend someday...
Love metal, been a fan over 25 years.
Metal probably has the most range out of any genre, there's tons of variety. I think a lot of the most talented musicians and writers in the world play metal.
can confirm. My metal phase was between 14-17. If you're over 18 and listen to metal youre manchild
So you listened to Slipknot and Disturbed? Cool story
Nothing more cringeworthy than yet another long-haired sissy that thinks his music is better than everyone else's.
Blasting Rows by (pic related) on repeat throughout my work out
I don't think it's better, I just like it more. I can also appreciate a good techno set. It's just that my gym plays really shitty cheesy mixes from some internet radio station.
nah, i was actually big metalfag. black, doom, death, slam, extreme... I was crazy for that shit, but it got old pretty fast
A lot of metal fans are cringeworthy doesn't mean I'm not gonna like what I want because of that.
Most metal fans are musicians also. A lot of it takes some musical knowledge to appreciate.
also Pelican is good for workouts

I've listened to metal almost every day for 25 years but never got into those little subgenres. Most of it is unlistenable to me. I kinda skim the surface of everything. Except hair metal I'm kind of an encyclopedia.
The only music worse than metal is country so at least you've got that. Shit I'd rather listen to gangster rap for the rest of my life than any genre of "metal"
fuck yeah mastodon

Who /dancepop/ here?

I like metal, but more often than not I find it distracting when trying to complete a set.
I usually cave and put on some Queen.
make them suffer is fucking unreal. chelsea grin is another band ive been listening too a bit. unless you arent talking about death metal and deathcore and shit
yeah whatever... shouldnt you be prepping your wife for ahmed?
I used to listen to metal when I was a teenager. I always hated this type of music but still listened to it because I wanted to "be different", in other words I wanted to be an attention whore. I would put that shit on blast volume so that everyone can hear what I am listening to. My mentality changed completely when I started lifting and grew to become an adult.
now I listen to music that I actually enjoy:
youtube.com
if you listen to metal you need to have a chat with yourself. Do it as early as possible, don't waste so much time like I did.
metal is incel cancer
just lol at listening to anything that isn't trance, house or rap
>low test
>not listening to music which raises your cortisol thus lowering your test
lifting brought me into metal. thought ill try some metal for that new squat pr and boom i was hooked. great for prs, although i can hit them to all kinds of music, it just needs to be the right song
Anyone here nu-metal ? This is my go to when going for PR's.
>meshuggah

Opera, orchestra and symphonic death metal is where it's at
You have proved me wrong! This video you linked truly shows one of the most talented musicians in the world!
Someone posted Gojira in another thread which lead me to this. Works great for lifting weights imo.

>slaughter of the soul
I love you OP
I saw them in Vancouver, grabbed the second last ticket
>the car's on fire
I listen to rap from the 1990s. Back when it was about struggle and strife. Murder and beatdowns. Selling drugs instead of using drugs. Growing up hard in the streets. Not this sissy hiphop garbage nowadays about poppin mollies and swag and bullshit.
Biggie, 2pac, Nas, Wutang, DMX, Old Snoop and Dre. Gangsta rap. When there were actual gangs.
this is my cardio playlist
a lot of shit in there m8
it's mostly for the beats, stuff that's high energy/rhythmic enough to just kind of lose myself in and keep running
You best not be calling cascada "shit" though, m8
>I think a lot of the most talented musicians and writers in the world play metal.
That sounds suspiciously like something a greasy haired teen would say to me in a rock club. If you really think that, you need to listen to more stuff.
Anything with some good crescendos really gets the blood flowing ;-)

some classics and some different genres, don't like the usual drawn out repetitive metal
I listen to Nokturnal Mortum, Inquisition, Bathory, and sometimes Sunn O))) when I'm at the gym. If I forget to bring my earbuds I will literally drive 15 minutes back home and get them. Fuck the overhead radio station.
As memey as they are Deju Vu and Running in the 90's are GOAT workout tracks
I like working out to SOD and MOD
Fucking bait harder you fuck
It's my fucking teens in a playlist
Great image
im working on expanding it a bit so i have more variety, but it's difficult to find songs that are "just right" in this vein
this is great man, thanks
I am nothing without my cringy anime jams.
I swear if I'm ever in the position to schedule things at a gym, every Fri/Sat/Sun from 10PM-1AM will be Neet Night. That is the demographic I want to help the most.
Only song I need.

it helps me focus. also: best NIN
I find it hard to lift to future funk, as much as I love it
metal for the gym, and then chillwave+future funk to get /comfy/ after
This shit is rad
youtube.com
See I'm the exact opposite. I just feel like an edgelord whenever theres metal on at the gym.
sluwe vos, my nigga
Feeling like an edgelord for your PRs and heavy lifts is awesome imo
if your set has a good soundtrack it increases your max by 10% desu
Outside of the gym I listen to damn near anything except country, gospel and most of the shitty current rap. In the gym it's only metal but not one particular genre, I find a metal song I like and add it to the playlist.
