why don't more people do this? Why does it carry such a negative stigma?
srsly bros, I take my dog out for a 10 mile blade easy. it's super fun, it can be done anywhere, you can focus on different muscle groups while doing it, it can be as intense or as easy as you would like, it's low impact.
What the FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHY HAVENT YOU GOTTEN SOME BLADES?
>inb4 I long board-ya, sure you long board from class to class, you and every other bro faggot. long boarding is NOTHING like blading for fitness
I have been rollerblading for years too. I get looks on the bike path but maybe because I have size 13 feet and my wheels are 90mm so they look huge.
What kind of blades you got?
Jackson Wood
Rollerblade fitness blades with 90mm wheels for distance
Razors SL reds with 55mm wheels for aggressive.
Gotta size down as much as you can on blades, for aesthetics.
Ayden Rivera
I skateboard because I love myself and also the culture is neat-o
Chase Johnson
>fruit boots
Gliding around with wheels on your feet can hardly be considered exercise.
Jeremiah Foster
You skateboard because you are a drone and pop-culture made it seem cool to you.
Eli Martinez
c'mon out for a blade bruv, you may be suprised.
Elijah Price
Ok ya I don't do the agressive stuff this is just for fitness and transportation.
What's your estimate on cals burned per mile? I am around 200 lbs but never found a good way to get numbers.
Luke Cooper
That would be tough for me to estimate as I imagine it has a lot to do with the intensity at which you blade. I imagine the cals burnt would be somewhere between running and biking.
Ethan Kelly
You're joking. Right?
Aiden Perez
I used to roller blade in elementary school. Did a lot of jumping off stairs and trying to grind on curbs but ate too much shit.
I then discovered skateboarding and longboarding in middle school.
Rollerblading is for autists

Ya I have even tried with a heart rate monitor but every ride is different. Just seeing if there was something missing.
I love going on a long skate shirtless in the summer and getting a tan. I try go at sunrise or sunset so the sun is directly at my body.
Brody Martinez
Learning to fall is a skill in blading, because they are attached you usually fall harder than when sk8boarding, Sorry to hear you couldn't handle the pain and moved on to the popular option.
Henry Hall
I learned to fall from skateboarding, as it takes much more skill to balance than the latter. So I see no logic in your argument.
If you're going to argue with me that rollerblading is harder than skateboarding you're gonna get smashed by a lot of anons here.
Ian Cooper
have you really done all these things? Pls teach me senpai
Easton Lopez
It can be harder, blading is as hard as you make it. Same with skateboarding, it's as hard as you make it. I will agree that it takes more skill to jump a 4 stair on a skateboard, because of that bladers have the ability to "up the ante". So while you would be doing a 50/50 on a 9 stair rail, I would be doing a top soul on a 50 stair kink rail.
The equalizer is the size of the tricks/stunts
Joseph Hill
Yes, I have really done those things. I'm not sure it can be taught via Veeky Forums
Gavin Mitchell
Me and my bro go out for a blade every Sunday. Usually a lap aound the barrier island I live on, then over the causeway for some hill work. 5-8 miles. Sometimes we rest at the park by the overlook and discreetly exchange HJ's.
Colton Nguyen
If you're going to turn this debate into a subjective matter, then go for it. Just because you kind of agree with what I have to say, you're going to turn it into a "Everything is relative to how much harder you want it to be".
I do agree with you to a certain extent, but I firmly believe that skateboarding is harder.
However, to come to a peaceful conclusion with you here are my facts to you.
#1: Rollerblades have brakes and easy ways to come to a stop. Skateboards do not have any way to stop except to simply "jump off".
#2: (related to #1), once committed to grinding on curbs, rollerbladers, once committed, have no way out if situation gets dangerous. Skateboarders, however, have an option to bail out by, once again, jumping off/bailing.
So yeah, there is a little bit of bias on my end. I choose skateboarding. Don't make it a debate with me based on ego though by telling me that I couldn't handle the pain of falling from blading. I didn't like it, so chose an alternative. That's that. :D
Robert Turner
None of my blades have brakes on them. Nor have they ever.
Bladers grind "curbs" as a joke, any real grinds are done on rails or ledges.
Sebastian Walker
It's easier to stop on blades as opposed to stopping on a skateboard. Either way, hope you get my point. To each their own.
And I said bladers basically have to be more committed when they do jumps and grinds (compliment) as opposed to skaters.

Rollerblading is gay and skateboarding is hipster trash

I used to rollerblade when I was a kid and I loved it, but around 8-9 years old I fell backward and hit my head on the floor while trying to go maximum speed. I took it up again around 16 years of age but had no time to learn. Now I'm 23, you think I can learn again? Also, it inferes a lot with squats and diddlys recovery?
Jackson Adams
ya, you can learn. There is a resurgence of dudes getting back into blading that had taken long breaks. It's a pretty common story.
Blading doesn't interfere so much with squats and diddlys (for me anyways) but squats and diddlys can interfere with blading. Just work your program around your schedule...

It's pretty fun. I never learned how to do the powerstop, slaloming or any cool tricks.
Doing it for cardio seems pretty eh cause unless you're doing hills, you learn how to coast on one foot and be efficient with your movement. It does work out your legs in a completely diff way to running, especially your inner thighs.

Thanks for making this thread, OP.
I actually quite enjoy it, however mine hurt my feet so I should get new ones - however I only do it around twice a year
