Home Gym Thread

Are dumbbells, a barbell with weights, a squat rack, and a bench the only thing I need for a home gym? I already have a treadmill for cardio btw.

yes.

god fucking mirin that setup, yes that is realistically the bare minimum. A pullup bar (get a rack that has one) would be a plus, and some dumbbells would be a plus

lol framing fitness product posters is the gayest shit i've ever seen holy shit

I was thinking the same lmao, why fuck up such a good setup.

It seems like getting dumbbells just increases unnecessarily the price of your setup. Why not just get dumbbell bars?

look at the ceiling

I'm with you on that, that's pretty bad.

How about some tasteful pictures, not some commercialist shite. Also wouldn't mind a power rack, can always make one for cheap if you know someone with a welder.

Hey op. Can you give me the product name of that bench and rack combo you got there?

Puke taupe walls, homo posters, and splurge on a decent fucking tv you stingy fuck. it' snot more than a couple gs and you get big ass 4k

>a fucking p90x poster

add a C2 rower. Much more of a full body cardio workout.

What's your opinion on the FU style water rower?
looks cozy af

I'm currently in the process of buying a home, and one of the primary things i'm looking for is a big garage. I don't care if it's a shit style ranch house, if there's a big garage with a concrete floor i'm going to fill it with tools, workout equipment, a stereo, and a refrigerator and never leave.

Overtime, a gym membership is still a cheaper investment than a home gym. All that equipment has to cost at least $1,000 and it gives you less options than a regular gym.

Plus Its kind of gross to be sweating in your own home.

What's gross is touching equipment hundreds of people touch a day, wiping their sweaty faces off, touching their dicks and assholes when they shit. But you're okay with that.

Not all of us are poorfags that can only afford a $10 a month retro fitness membership.

Yea money wise for years, it/ll be about the same. Personally I love watching T.V not having to be around people and generally just being more comfortable with hogging the equipment. To each his own but with a home gym, the daily workout is only the distance to the fridge and can be relaxing. That and times are more flexible.

That house is going to shake harder than a shakeweight if you deadlift any decent weight there

Time is a massive factor when considering home gyms, I have a busy schedule and its good to know when i need to work out it's only going to take me ~an hour to do so, rather than the 20+ minute round trip to the gym plus wasted time/routine adjustments factoring in other people.

Plus home gyms can be fairly cheap if you look second hand, especially where I am, your average gym membership is about $15 a week.

You will never work out at home. I promise you this. It is a Fucking waste of money.
But go ahead. BuY all that shit, and poSt a thread when you do please

You will never work out in general so you two are at a stalemate.

Topkek, you see right through me.
Have fun user.

You're good. Gyms are great for meeting people and staying motivated. If you're like me and you have no trouble staying motivated and fucking hate people, you've got the basics covered.

There are upsides to gym membership, I won't argue that point.

The upside to having a home set up is you get to invest all the time and motivation you'd need traveling to them gym into the actual workout. Also: all gym etiquette can be disrefuckinguarded. Waiting for equipment is no longer a thing. Supersets and circuits all fucking day. Grunt like a true autist, blast the music you like, spend some time mirin yourself like an arrogant cunt, leave weights all over the fucking place (I don't do this bc I'm OCD as fuck, but you can.) It doesn't matter.

power rack adjustable dumbbell barbell weights
thats it famalam

Less than 300 dollars can easily get you a pull-up bar, throw mat, and free weights, which definitely covers 50% of weight lifting easy. Get a cheap bench (no incline bullshit, those break so fucking quick) and maybe a find your cheapest alternative for a cable and stack rig.
>Some say bowflex replaces a cable and stack but I never really took those to be serious in my book. They just seem like if I mentioned it to someone at work or to a friend it would make me appear stupid or something.
Definitely need someway to invert gravity for some isolated sidelifts and tricep downward lifts.

>Plus Its kind of gross to be sweating in your own home.
I piss, shit, ejaculate, vomit, and cry in home own home (usually in that order.) Sweating is probably the least gross thing you can do compared to all that.

But yeah I'm still with you. I have a good home gym setup that I got from my uncle when he moved out of state, but I still prefer to go to the actual gym.

I wanted to do a power cage + bench, dumbbells, and a small platform with a barbell and bumper pl8s for weightlifting. The room I'm thinking about using is pretty large, but carpeted. Need mats.

Also dunno if my neighbors would like hearing me drop weights from overhead onto the platform at night
