>tfw only one at my gym who doesn't dealift with a mixed grip
Tfw only one at my gym who doesn't dealift with a mixed grip
what's your 1rm
Not sure, but I can do 215 lbs for 5 reps
Slowly progressing up in weight.
Isn't mixed grip easier ?
That's why. Nobody does mixed grip for baby weight.
learn to hookgrip masterrace
serious question about mixed grip
should I be switching up how I grip it? I only do right arm facing out and left arm facing in, but should I be alternating or nah
I switch arms every set
Mixed grip is just to stabilize the weight and be sure that the bar dosen't slip away
And yea if you do that alternate arms
Seriously just learn hookgrip
less worry about imbalances.
Less injury prone
Less issues with improper set up.
hook girl leeads to bicep tear el stupido
Every deadlift bicep tear I've ever seen happened using mix grip.
...Got baited.
Some people like having functioning thumbs
who the hell even uses hook grip for deadlifts anyway.ive never seen anyone do that. you must be quite retarded
>tfw be one of only 4 guys at the gym who deadlift at all
I made it to a lmao4pl8 DL with nothing but regular grip. Never understood mixed grip and sumo babbies.
Then I stopped dead lifting because all my powerlifter friends are broken and look like shit and I don't want to end up like that.
do you use straps, chalk or any other meme accessories?
not easier just makes it possible when you get to real weight
>tfw lifting for 6 months and outlift everyone in my gym at 6', 155
sounds like a waste of time
at deadlift that is
Seems pretty tough, honestly. Once I get past 285 I start needing to mix my grip up otherwise my hands slip.
Yeah I think years of climbing has given me grip strength enough to get to 4 plate (on 3.5 and haven't had grip troubles yet)
It's about the only thing it's given me in terms of lifting honestly
>tfw my gym's diddly record is nearly 800 pounds so I'll never pass it
Its okay. What you can't do for lifting you can make up for with punching
/thread
hook grip and chalk is GOAT... so secure
You should try and switch at the top of every rep
JP Cauchi
tried hook grip once and never looked back. deadlift feels stornger because of it especially since i have an injury on the left side of my torso that slows my ability to grow there
i agree mix grip is best especially when your hands are dry

Quints are truth
What's a good double overhand (non-hook) deadlift to have?
I do judo and can also hold 4 plates.
Good grip is pretty broteir
4pl8
Same for me. But iam honest. At like 160kg I use straps, because otherwise it would slip on the fifth rep.
Currently at 180kg x6 with straps and without height difference
>chalk
>straps
>mixed grip
why don't you just not be a griplet
mixed grip shitters BTFO
>tfw only one at the gym who deadlifts with the thick bar
>the looks i get when i fail a set of 130kg and drop the bar on the 5th rep
has anyone ever tried deadlifting without using thumbs. I tried it to test what it felt like and kills the forearms.
no pinky finger is dainty af
do not alternate
don't do this
retard
switch gyms
whatever suits you, if you don't want to do X don't do X
despite Veeky Forums dogma there are no absolutes
people do mixed grip in my gym because they say it keeps your spine neutral because its pulling on one side
When you can pull 315 for reps with a regular grip, then you can come and brag. 215 is literally light weight baby on deads.
>tfw the only guy who deadlifts
(except for that one guy who i saw deadlifting 2.5pl8 a couple months ago)
>1 pl8 = woman
>2 pl8 = normie
>3 pl8 = good
>4 pl8 = great
Did that for the first time this week. Double overhand thumbless is going to be my go to grip exercise for sure.
currently 3pl8 for 5 w/ double overhand
>mix grip is literally asking for snap city
Will be laughing when you tear that bicep you filthy casual
can i get a quick rundown on these guys?
trap bar masterrace
disgusting mongs
Hairdoo Habier and Fish Face Franco, when they walk into a club everyone suddenly becomes concerned or forgets where they left their keys
I'm not bragging
I'm worried I might be doing something wrong
You cant use a hook grip in powerlifting matches so instead try versagrips but never straps because they're illegal too. just sayin
>the only one at my gym that doesn't deadlift sumo
What the heck
I do hook grip (also still at babby weight)
But who the fuck cares. I want to develop my grip strength along with my legs to get to 3pl8 for reps without mix grip. I will probably stop weight increase around there and just do sets for reps. What could possibly be gained from 1 rep ego lifts with mix grip? Besides making yourself think that ppl be mirin when in reality they are watching you the same reason ppl watch NASCAR. Just waiting for the crash.
