Just saw a clip at the gym on Global News about how Fat-Shaming actually leads people to becoming more fat. As much of a joke as the clip was, the icing on the cake was Boogie2988 came on and talked about how all the trolling on the internet flares up his PTSD and makes him eat more. I just don't understand why they keep trying to encourage obesity.

T-REX ARM HAVING
Boogie is allowed to eat whatever he wants because he is going to die in a year or so. May as well enjoy it.
boogie is just a lard ass who wants people to feel bad for him
>not losing weight on purpose so you can continue your subscriber pity-party
Not really sure how to feel about this tbhfam
SALAD DODGING
boogie weighed 520 pounds before he became famous and he still weighs 520 pounds today. what is his point?
NO DICK SEEING
calorie
Being fat also harms health
Boogie is so fucking obese he has virtially no testosterone left in his body, which is why he does nothing but complain and whine about everything all the time.
Fucking worthless blob. Gas him now.
CALORIE THEIVIN
Does that mean the internet can kill off the obesity epidemic?
Then only Veeky Forums individuals will remain, right?
DR ROBOTNIK LOOKIN'
Every picture I see of Boogie fills me with primordial disgust. His ancestors struggled to survive for thousands of years and pass on their genes, and it has culminated in a fat, barely human, blob who scarfs twinkies in between bitching about how the internet is so mean to him
>muh fat shaming RREEEEEEE
artery cloggin
Fat-shaming does harm health however body acceptance harms health as well, why people have to be extreme and can't just find that middle ground is beyond me.
Boogie is the embodiment of blaming others instead of himself, so he doesn't have to claim responsibility for his bad habits. He's beyond help and is as delusional as a Brazilian tranny.
would tittyfuck/10 no homo
>talked about how all the trolling on the internet flares up his PTSD and makes him eat more
he talks as though he has zero agency whatsoever
nobody has a fucking gun to your head, you ARE able to make decisions on your own, with nobody else to blame but yourself
Boogie's situation is so bad I'm starting to pity him. How mentally fucked do you have to be to get to this state but still not be able to stop yourself from eating so much.
the only possible answer is he doesn't want to help himself
he made peace with the fact he's going to die a fat fuck long ago
Only reason I started losing weight when I hit 400 was friends and family shaming and offering weight loss in equal and constant measure. Acceptance and positivity only reinforced that it was not my fault or actions that led me to where I was. Boogie keeps getting fatter because he keeps getting encouragement that everything is okay and everyone loves him just the way he is. If anything, him and his legion of fans should be the prime example of what well wishers do to fat people. As for me, I'm down to 235 and still dropping. Fuck being nice about it, if you love someone and they're obese, tell them you don't want to watch them die after living only a third of what their life could last to. And especially fuck body positivity and HAES. Fuck them with a god damned rake.

JOULE JOLTIN'
DOWN HILL ROLLIN'
I think as a collective we should stop pretending that losing weight is hard
treat it like just taking medicine
not some kind of intervention
it doesn't need any more attention than that
and people who say it does, won't be helped
Stressful situations can legit make a person eat more, having them go to the "comfort" food that is actually destroying their health.
me i've been super skinny my whole life, at my lowest i think i might've been 110lbs at 5'10 mostly from anxiety which made it hard to eat which is pretty pathetic but it was hard especially cause i had a pretty gf and i honestly just didnt have the incentive at the time and because i didnt realize how bad my health really was. what helped me most was hearing other people basically say negative things about me and it really made me realize. i know i should have been able to realize these things myself as i thought about it every single day for years but combined with a bit of self discipline hearing others perspectives made it clear it was time to change
...
Fuck it, I want him to die. He's had all the help in the world from the best of the best. He's had every opportunity, that anyone could ever hope or pray for, yet he's just made excuse after excuse after excuse.
I'm done hoping for him to get better, right now all he's doing is encouraging others to make excuses. His cult is sick with blind encouragement of every action he takes, it's like some kind of revolting fetish to encourage this man to eat himself to death.
They need to die and he needs to die.
poof
If fat-shaming harms health then explain this, Mr Science
Study: Fat shaming makes fatties stop being fatties.
Sample size: me.
>Sample size: me
The psychology behind fat shaming keeping people fat is really simple.
Fat people tend to be depressed. When you shame them, that makes them feel despair, and they want to ignore or avoid the problem even more. Since overeating is one of the symptoms of avoidance/despair, they're much more likely to respond to fat shaming by overeating more. This will not be true for everyone, but it will be true for most people.
The best thing you can do for overweight people is to keep encouraging them with inclusion. Invitations to the gym, stuff like that. One of the things that keeps them from being fit is that they're going to see fit people as "others", and that they don't belong to that group, so they'll avoid places and actives associated with that group. But if they're invited, and they go, they're likely to challenge that idea. It's also going to challenge other ideas about their self image: That they're failures, incapable, etc., especially when they start to see advancement. It proves the idea that there's nothing they can do to change wrong. So once they start to change, even if they backslide, they'll remember the time that they tried because it felt so good to change. It's going to stick with them.
This is human nature.
All this said, evidence isn't going to stop FPH/fat shaming. Fat shaming has nothing to do with helping fat people. It's about the catharsis of hating, and fighting. The truly self-aware people of FPH will acknowledge this about themselves but, may not be willing to admit it publicly, because it makes them look bad and weakens the social ties. They know a lot of people apart of fat shaming only allow themselves to be there because they have convinced themselves that it does good.

It's not really scientific if you have 3 people user
he had an abusive mother
kek
>he had an abusive mother
I had an abusive father, he pinned me against walls by my neck when he was pissed off, hit me and my sisters often, he would come upstairs at night and drag us all out of bed and hit us for no reason.
having an abusive perant is no excuse for being 520lbs. you learn to stick up for yourself, you learn not to be a little bitch that takes shit.
you make sure no one can attack you, eating won't make it go away, nothing will.
it happened, but you have to move on and make your life better than it was before.
I have never been under the illusion that these threads are meant to help fat people. Most aren't here to see them anyway and won't be. Of the fatties who do see these threads, well then chances are they have an interest in getting better to begin with, hence bother to check out a place called 'Veeky Forums - fitness'.
Besides, these threads do not matter anyway. Those people like boogie already has his bubble and comfort zone and don't plan to leave it... hence why they get targeted for mockery to begin with. Note that I'm not justifying the action of mocking them since ultimately I am just mocking them and nothing more. It's a cycle and it's not breaking anytime since those guys have been like that even before fate hate/shame threads are a thing.
If his fans know this and yet still encourage him to keep living like right now, then those fans are just as bad or worse than the people who mock him.
If his fans truly care, they'd be urging him to see a shrink or whatever that'll help with his mental help and actually try to tell him to find ways to change his mindset.
In the end, saying X has a bad childhood doesn't justify or change anything (see how well that holds up in court when you say some criminal is like this because of bad childhood).
Even sympathy should have its limits; sympathy might have you accept that a person may need more time to change and be more patient with the person, but at the end, there should still be that expectation for the person to actually work towards it. Otherwise, it's just paying lip service, like his fans, Saying we'll support you fuck the haters etc is just another way of enabling him.
'Bad Childhood' isn't a get out of responsibility card.
HAMBURGER HANDLIN'
For someone talking about human nature and psychology, you're really, really underestimating or ignoring a lot of things about human nature and psychology: namely that they aren't as simple as you think. Yes, there are people who are here for those reasons you mention, but FPH threads are more than that.
It's also a ranting central. Humans have limits; from some regular folk with a stubborn fat relative, doctors and medics encountering fat people situations that makes them want to tear their hairs out, former fatties who can't believe they used to be like that, this place also acts as a way for them to have their little corner to shout out their frustrations.
Some may be here to shame fatties, but some may be here simply because they need a venue to shout about that shit and for someone else in a similar situation to look it at it, offer some solidarity and go, yeah, been there mate, it's tough, hang in there.
But doing whatever he wants is why he's hastening his death.
>Fat-Shaming actually leads people to becoming more fat.
And not hugging terrorists creates more terrorists. Makes sense.
Boogie has a strong incentive to stay fat. Who would watch his channel if he became a normie? Fat = $$$
>It's about the catharsis of hating, and fighting.
Correct.
>because it makes them look bad
Incorrect.
"Fat shaming" is also somewhat appropriate in the face of complete and utter delusions such as the fat acceptance movement or the health at every size movement, or any movement which would try to impose the financial cost of obesity on the rest of the population on grounds of "social justice" and the fight against "fat discrimination".
As a psych major I'm laughing my ass off.
As a psych major I'm dreading going into the field and actually trying to help these obese snowflake whales. Probably going to do mostly addictions counseling because you don't get many 500 pound heroin addicts coming for help.
MAYONNAISE GUZZLIN'
Man I used to think boogie was kinda funny until I realized how many excuses he came up with for his weight loss. This picture doesn't help either
>yfw Zyzz is dead but Boogie lives
Boogie would probably die at a sauna too desu
but I think it's more about quality of life, rather than living long. life is way more enjoyable when you're fit to do physical stuff without losing your breath and start sweating in minutes.
FPH threads aren't fat shaming threads, they're not knocking down fat peoples' doors and having a go at them personally, it's just shit talking among friends - many of whom are fat themselves and use the threads to drive themselves towards fitness (which is distinct from what we commonly think of as fat shaming, since it comes from within and is being used as a motivational tool rather than as discouragement).
>because you don't get many 500 pound heroin addicts coming for help.
You also probably don't get many who insist there's no correlation between heroin use and illness
>Health At Every High
FPH threads really helped me, I was already losing weight but it reinforced how stupid I really was being.
