4pl8's is far above the average in both normal people and regular gym goers. Sure, if you wish to compete in some powerlifting competition, you'd need more. But 4pl8's is actually a great 1RPM for deadlifts and usually the first step to 1/2/3/4

I've literally never seen anyone except a giant manlet powerlifter and a 6'6" athlete DL more than me and I can only DL 445lbsx1 raw. The personal trainers actually watched me hit it and congratulated me like it's a giant accomplishment.
There are much bigger guys at my gym than me, too. They all rep 3plates MAYBE.
