My guess people here don't know how to cook rice at all. Maybe add a pinch of salt to the water while boiling the rice, then when it's fluffy add a bit of olive oil and go to town on it when it's done.

first of all, you add salt to a boiling pan filled with water, then you add in the rice, make sure to stop the boiling before it gets properly cooked, if it's too cooked (otherwise known as normally cooked) it will be dry, stop it just before and it will be soft and smooth and a little sticky which is really LUSH

then when you take it off, quickly put some butter in the rice, close the top, leave it for 10 minutes come back and mix it and then serve

It's call gochujang. It's spicy pepper paste. It goes really well with rice. Korean just have rice with it if they are too lazy to cook
