Coffee Thread - Fact and Fiction

All sources are backed by science and are arguably the best sources on the web I could find that don't provide bullshit.

These are not you're typical Buzzfeed/Cosmopoltian media sites, these are backed by scientists and/or health care professionals. If not, it is either a trusted site or provides insight on previously proven facts. Please provide any insight you may have on coffee, including sources. Thank you.

This. It also makes my depersonalisation worse

Explain

his personality is numb slob and on coffee his mind starts working, which is scary

The myth that a drink made primarily of water dehydrates you is pretty interesting

Can someone answer this for me? I've always thought felt that coffee makes me pee more, ofc if you drink more to compensate you won't be dehydrated but this perception is why I don't drink coffee when I'm going to run long distance. Am I just retarded?

Caffeine is a diuretic, so it increases the urge to urinate. Likely why the rumor got started.
Drinking before running seems pretty unlikely to really change anything that much, but no reason to change if it's working for you.

Coffee makes me feel nauseous for a few hours.

ill stick with tea

It's an stimulant, somehow it makes my anxiety worse sometimes, since it increases your stress hormones.

sometimes i find it hard to drag my ass to gym if i dont hit quadruple coffee

>reading all that

where's the tl;dr?

Drink coffee

I got called a neckbeard for drinking only espressos what's up with that?

Just drink Americanos. It looks like normie coffee so you don't have to explain why you're a tismo.

Because people strange weird sentiments that don't have to make sense

In real life? Maybe because you have one. Online? Because people say whatever they want whenevery they want without any context.

> I c wat u did thur

I shouldn't drink coffee because I'm INTJ

Glad to hear it

Why is that, then?

Why sip a 2nd tier caffeine source when there's better options?

Sips have less caffeine than coffee, dingus.

when i drink a lot it makes my piss smell

It's not just about the caffeine

Coffee before cardio y/n?

Then why did you say it was in your post you idiot?

Coffee is ok.

Energy drinks are the cigarettes of our generation.

Coffee flushes magnesium out of your system, which leads to muscle cramps and twitches.

Not that guy you're referring to, but you just described me.

>source: my ass

google it

Not a myth, sea water is overwhelming water, beer is overwhelming water. Human bodies are 60% water.

If a drink isnt a higher percentage it will dehydrate, or if its a diuretic, which coffee certainly is.

He never said it was about the quantity of the caffeine ya dingus. You jumped straight to quantity.

It's about the quality of the sip. It's also about the B vitamins, the satisfying *PSCHT* when you crack open a can, and the crisp, refreshing finish.

It's safe to say you haven't tried
>that first sip

And not a single study was quoted that day.

DELET THIS

When I drink coffee I urinate far more frequently, but I also urinate less every time I go. I feel like I probably end up losing about the same amount of urine overall, I just have to do it in many, short bursts. I've never actually measured it or anything, so I'm not sure if it's accurate, but it's something to think about.

These people just don't get it.

Why would I want to spoil the exotic bean with cows milk?

An Americano is dilluted with water which actually makes it worse

They know not what they sip

thanks for posting this. that's some interesting info. there should be done more indepth and objective research on the effects of caffeine imo.
how independent are the studies, that conclude positive effects?
