Is there an acceptable amount of alcohol you can consume without fucking up your recovery?
I'm 21 and in college, I usually go out once per week and have a few drinks.
I've tried to just have fun and approach people completely sober but it's not the same experience.
It's a struggle because I want to be at my peak performance but also don't want to miss out on parties.

You can drink spirits with diet soda mixer. That's the best it's gonna get and it's still not great. It's doable but the will power the next day hungover to not overeat crappy food is the hardest part.

I live in Scotland and if you go out at the weekend to socialise you will be drinking. Or on drugs.

if you limit your drinking to the weekend, it shouldnt hurt. Just stay away from mixed drinks or trying to get drunk on shitty beer, you'll fill yourself with the wrong calories

I think the worst impact of alcohol is it induces hunger. Avoid or limit it if youre on a cut.

A couple drinks on the weekend are fine. Do some extra cardio that day to make up for it. If your really worried, keep to just a hard liquor like vodka and water it down.

Don't listen to these idiots just hit some extra cardio on the weekend and make sure you're not missing meals because of drinking and you'll be fine.

Unless you are taking it uber seriously at the expense of everything else, keep it in moderation and you will be fine. When i was in uni we went out every friday night and got fucked, made a point of eating clean and not drinking for the rest of the week and it was fine.

Now I tend to have a couple of drinks over the weekend and that is really it. Probably 6 drinks in total over friday and saturday night, haven't had any problems.

Stay away from beer. Michelob Ultra has the fewest carbs and calories though if you must. I usually drink gin and tonic or straight vodka and keep my drinking to the weekends. Do cardio and make sure you drink a lot of water/ stay hydrated to avoid a hangover. Don't drink to excess. I typically have 3 a night and I'm good when I go out. I'm 28 though. Don't listen to the virgins here, do you.

Order gin and seltzer/club soda. Best for avoiding excess calories and the carbonated water helps mitigate the next day hangover. Although you should also drink a cup of water for each drink you have.

Getting drunk once a week won't fuck your gains up especially in your 20's but you won't be performing at 100% either. Just stick to low-sugar mixed drinks to minimize calories/sugar intake and drink plenty of water and you'll get the best of both worlds. You can live a little and still be hella fit.
