Anyone else here tried keto before? I started it about a month ago at 212 lbs (6ft) and I'm down to 193 now. Lost 2 inches off waist. Doing 1700-1800 calories a day. 30 mins of cardio at home and 10 mins of HIIT after my lifting session. Idk it just seems like I'm losing so much so fast. Lot is prob water too. My strength has for the most part stayed the same if not just a little bit lost.

Keto is a meme diet. Yeah, you'll lose body fat on it, but so what? You'll lose about the same amount of fat eating similar portions on a healthier, balanced diet. The sticky has linked studies proving this.

Putting your body through ketosis is not good for you. Your brain needs carbohydrates as fuel, and when its running on fat as energy instead you're not going to feel very well. Your brain will slow down. You will have trouble concentrating. You will have less energy. You will have a shit attitude. And your willpower will be shit as a result.

Just count your calories, eat healthy, and keep track of your macros accordingly. And lift. You'll feel great after you get used to the lower caloric intake. And you'll lose just as much fat if you keep at it.

Keto for me was great for losing weight but shit at maintaining athletic performance. IMO I'd recommend it for anyone not needing to maintain athletic performance

Jordan B Peterson said he and his daughter went keto, and the daughter was able to quit taking anti depressants. Might be other benefits to it.

I know this is old but this is the dumbest thing I've ever read on fit.
I've been on keto for a month now and feel better than I ever have. It helps you stop craving food by cutting out carbs. I do not crave food anymore.
