Hey Veeky Forums, as a distance runner I need to consume more carbohydrates in my diet. Any good recommendations for foods providing a good amount of complex carbs.

Wrong.
>as a distance runner I need to consume more carbohydrates in my diet
this isn't true btw
I started looking at condensed milk as sugary treats, I really crave the strong taste, and looking at its nutritional value it isn't that bad
> not that many carbs
> high protein
> high fat
> high calcium
so overall I think its a decent treat and source of carbs before training, what Veeky Forums thinks?

hey buddy I think you got the wrong door, the leather club's 2 blocks down
fuck you.
nah fuck you leatherman
>it's always been done this way, so i'll do it this way - despite the inferior performance and the risk of diabetes
*leatherhead
At work some chubby meme marathon runner chick was telling her workmate how she "carb loaded" on swedish fish before a marathon or half or whatever. I couldnt help but think to myself "or you just needed an excuse to eat an entire bag of swedish fish."
Inferior performance? HAHAHA. Any yeah bro, Kenya is just rife with diabetes. They need to eat more 'murican foods.
She sounds like a middle aged mom who doesn't know/care about the difference of simple and complex carbs.
smartass...
Kenyan's dominate distance running
they know what they're doing
OP - eat carbs, lots of them, keep the protein and fat low
1 Keto
2 There are now H I G H T E C H carbs available. So runners often make gels of these that dissolve in the mouth for whatever stretch.
2a. For long distance a super low GI carb like UCAN is often used (fucking expensive tho)
2b. For high intensity like sprinting or even lifting high GI carbs like Vitargo are often used
UCAN and VITARGO are both high tech and at the extremes of low and high GI.
