Manual Labor Jobs

How many of you work tough, physical jobs? How has it affected your strength/your workouts? Do you tailor your routine around it?

Forgot to say, pic related- my job

I kinda want to be an arborist or park ranger. I can't even apply to the French Foreign Legion, because of low BMI (and diabetic). Nobody want chronic diseaselets or hungry skelingtons anywhere.

I work at a brewery
Wake at at 4 so it ruins my sleep
Also I need my legs and arms a lot so i cut back and don't lift as much

It sucks

your questions are dumb
bet you are a fucking groundman since week

nobody gives a fuck about job faggot

That sucks man, I dont know anything about being a park ranger but maybe you could try out as a groundworker for an arborist? Not as physically straining, more endurance- plus theyll probably be willing to train you

Would you say the work you do at the brewery kinda compensates for that? shame about the lack of sleep though

lol i did start as a groundie but was trained up by the people i was working for- what do you do?

I kinda want to apply to the legion, sounds exciting.

Maybe it helps forearms, and core strength
But things it doesn't help is your back cause of always lifting. Too many stairs so you're hurting the day after squatting

I stay in my feet all day and move a lot so you definitely have like 15k steps. But everyone I work with is out of shape. Lack of sleep, tons of coffee, stress, unlimited beer flowing. It's not good for my health

Makes sense, Forearms are definitely hit hard in most manual stuff- damn you're up and down stairs alot too? that must suck. Well most laborers aren't in amazing shape what with the general poor nutrition, but yeah the lack of sleep and beer must take its toll

They're fairly selective. Make sure you're up to scratch physically (check the reqs). They'll p much just send you home on a whim when you go there.

t. Someone who would've joined as a kid but my eyesight's not perfect and my circumstances became bearable.

How would you rate your job satisfaction? I home brew and recently decided opening a small brewery would be a long term goal for my life (like 10-20 years down the way). I'd like to hear your opinion on what it's like.

I'm pretty strong, and I am currently a correctional officer so they would like that.
the only issue I would have is if they deem me too high class, not one of the people using the legion as a last resort, meaning I might not be as dedicated to the legion as those kind of people might be.

either way. I'll probably wind up just becoming a police officer instead

I Think you meant

I don't think they care all that much on that. Plenty of Brits from military families join for example, often very posh lads who just fail the vastly more stringent British Army medical. Yes you swear allegiance to the legion but not France but that's not the same as it only being for down and outs. They try to grow that allegiance over your contract too.

One thing to note is that they will go through the shit you have on you when you arrive at the recruitment centre in preparation for the Gestapo interview. So don't take a phone with dick pics or something or a laptop with months of dickgirl porn in the browser history.

I'm gonna do this (pic related, don't know the english name for it) this summer. I've never done it before. What fate awaits me? Will i lose all my gains? We're gonna be working in taiga-type forests 7 hours / day.

If you're just cutting down small shit like that without tidying up it'll probably be fine, just monotonous and a bit tiring

Yep it's just gonna be clearing, if i've understood it correctly were clearing out areas of wood owned by some soulless corporation. We cut down most small trees leaving the healthy trees more space so they can grow. And it's just cutting, no tidying up, so maybe i'll be fine, might even make some legs and core gains.

you do not build a very muscular body with heavy work. or did anybody of u see a buff construction side worker?

I Think that's mostly because of poor nutrition though? I'd agree that its in generally inferior to get bigger than going to the gym, but ive seen big dudes in these jobs, but they're all pretty fat so its hard to tell

I did, my bad
