Bad Spotters

>decide to go for pr on bench
>all warm up lifts are going well
>get to weight where i need a spot
>ask pajeet for spot
>tell him to keep hands off the bar unless i stall
>get pumped
>start lifting 135kg (285lbs) pr
>feeling good, touch chest
>press up till im just 10cm from lock out
>pajeet jumps in and lifts the final part
>dont get good feels of hitting new pr

I literally gave him a quick run down on how i wanted to be spotted and he fucked it up. Do any of you guys have issues with spotters fucking your set? how do you deal with it?

also i usually have a friends who knows how to spot but none of them were there today

lol, that's pretty much the only time you need a spotter.

ive never got why people are annoyed if you get the rep clean when youve asked them to spot you, it takes less than a minute to spot someone.

That would piss me off something fierce. I usually give a small apology for when I tear through a set I asked to be spotted on, but I still want the spot because after a certain amount of weight you don't want that shit sitting in your chest.

I always ask for a spot on my working weight, lmao2pl8 or more.

Some safety bars can be adjusted to the perfect height for bench, but sometimes the holes are like a foot apart and you just cant get it to work

Bastard ruined my fucking set

Nothing better than asking some dude to spot you, and he does so perfectly.

When somebody IS about to take the bar from me on like.. my 1st ducking rep of 5, I scream I GOT IT almost autistically loud.

I've had to do this 5 times in a row for an entire set once, getting louder and louder.

That dude walked away awkwardly and someone else came up and asked if I wanted a "better spot"

He gave me a liftoff and then didn't fucking touch it.

i even hate liftoffs, i only ever want my spot to come in if im failing or i tell them to
got a spot from a pretty big guy, he does the liftoff then pretty much drops the weight he was holding on my hands no gentle easing off or anything, and it really fucked my set

I like being that guy. Had chest day yesterday, and spotted a guy benching between my own sets. Lifted it off, but left it afterwards, and only held my hands a few inches under the bar on the last rep just in case.
