Squat. Not even may maying I promise. I swear when you become really good at squatting and you get to doing 400+ lbs they are exhilarating to do . Nothing like getting ampd up as fuck to some slayer and digging deep. I feel like a lot of people dont like squatting because it can be an uncomfortable exercise due to poor hip mobility, which most people have shit hip mobility.

OHP is my favourite. It just feels like a raw strength movement that's satisfying to do mechanically, if the form is right and all that.

After 2 years of not lifting and being on an accidental cut I started lifting again in february.

Started out with 20kg OHP and hit 45kg last saturday, strict form.

yeah I came to really like the barbell rows. Feels amazing and works your back. They also seem to work your forearms hard.
OHP I really love as well, but deadlifts I struggle with. My grip is shit, mainly my finger strength.

Farmers walks, I like deadlifts and am struggling to increase my bench and OHP but for some reason lifting heavy thing and carrying heavy thing makes me a damned happy panda inside.

After I injured my shoulder with bad bench form I held off on doing it and did other shoulder exercises that built way more muscle. The press just isn't that good for muscle building.

I miss it a lot though. The sheer simple exhilaration of lifting a bar above your head...

It is literally the best shoulder exersise you can do.

OHP and front squat. OHP I've noticed to be the most beneficial functional strength lift along with deadlifts and squats. I remember before I started lifting I'd struggle to lift 20lbs over my head and in most cases couldn't do it but I finally got 100lbs OHP and it's so fucking nice. like for instance at work, moving heavy boxes to higher up shelves. It's so nice to feel like what you used to need a ladder for is now easily accessible. I don't know what pectorals are for honestly. I've tried to get into benching but aside from /aesthetiCCs/ I haven't found a use for them.

well, at first it would be helpful to know that there is no proper way for everybody. Your body's proportions, tendon attachments, insertions, capacity to recover, resistance to stressors, androgen receptor density and dozens of other variables are unique to you and only you.
Learn to listen to your body. If you fail the last rep on 5x3 or whatever, its not the end of the world. Those are at the end of the day only arbitrary numbers that help you finding the correct weights that stress your muscles in a certain way.

As far as olympic lifts is concerned, you have to consult a trainer. The best weightlifters in the world spend decades to perfect their form. Two youtube videos and some lengthy guide on a shitty blog wont cut it, im afraid.

Thats also why dogmatic Rippetoe shitposting is literal cancer. Perfect for autists who need checklists and super strict rep schemes, but its overgeneralization is stupid and detrimental.

I started going to the gym just recently so please excuse my lack in knowledge on how specific lifting exercises are called.

I love exercising my torso and arms in those pressing machines and discovered that when I'm getting at my limit and my muscles are getting sore, but keep on pressing, my legs start shaking and it tingles throughout my whole body. Does anyone else has the same experience?
