It's true though

What you do with that calorie(s) is what matters.

Yeah and an apple is an apple. Whats your point?

Correct

is a calorie

>a A press is a A press

fuck off henry

sounds like an unsustainable mindset

...

>5000 calories of candy corn or doughnuts is no different than 5000 calories of steak, tilapia, mashed root vegetables, beans, cauliflower cheese, etc

brb eating 5000 cals of candy corn gonna be as ripped as ronnie coleman.

A calorie in the strictest sense is only a calorie but when you apply it to a complex machine like your body it changes.

Protein, fat and carbs all have different hormonal effects on your body eat too much or too little of one and a calorie is no longer just a calorie.

Also, protein requires far more energy from your body before it can make is useful, whereas carbs and fat do not require as much energy for your body to use that energy.

you are correct. 5000 calories will net you just as much weight gain as 5000 calories of candy

you will probably get really sick and other shit.

but a kg is still a kg.

>reducing diet/nutrition to a couple of words
Calories in calories out, ketogenic diet, high-carb etc. is all retarded.

Those things are more general guidelines, rules of thumb, not an actual diet

No no...no....no.....no
50 grams of carbs from say oatmeal and 50 grams of carbs from say table sugar are not the same. 1. Your body needs to use more energy to digest and breakdown the oatmeal. 2. The 150 cals from the sugar is broken down by your body almost imminently some goes to your liver and blood the rest will be stored as fat bc your body doesn't use it right away unlike the oatmeal which is more complex, broken down slower and the energy is released slower allowing your body to use it and burn those calories

Well yeah but if you ask someone if he's dieting he will answer with one of those and most of the time he didn't put much more thought into it. You can eat potato chips and drink soda all day and call yourself vegan. You need to go into detail when it comes to almost anything nutrition related.

A calorie is a calorie just like a human being is a human being.

>what is common sense

A calory is a calory like 5 is greater than 4. A true but useless statement.

Something that's missing on Veeky Forums and everywhere else.

Granny Smith sucks. Fuji is where it's at

Only things that really matter in nutrition:

1. Eat goal calories
2. Eat goal proteins
3. Eat a variety of different foods
4. Don't eat garbage

That's really 90% of all of it. You can focus on the other 10% if you're a legit pro athlete or autistic

On paper yes but when you put it into your body nah

a human being is a human being.

any nigger off the street should be able to play basketball as well as any chinky.

Pretty good summary that will work and keep you healthy most of the time. I like nutrition just as a hobby, it's interesting and you can always improve your diet. I might take some biochem courses just for fun. Also you get to be a nitpicky shitposter online.

This guy gets it

But thats not OPs point

...

>a Joule is a Joule

>carbs aren't important
>fats aren't important
>all that matters is protein because Veeky Forums says so
wanna know how I know you look like shit user?

>a calorie is a calorie
>b-but theres different stuff in calories

Wow you fucking retard

>calories are made up of protein, fat, and carbs.

"a calorie is a calorie"
