I have school and work I can't sleep 8 hours.

I fap multiple times a day and go to the gym once a month. I have no self discipline and it's killing me
Im working on it though. Got back from the Gym (first time this month...) 10 minutes ago, and plan on going again in a week (after a vacation, or I'd plan on going sooner and then not go cause that's how much of a fucking fag I am)

I slept 14 hours second-to-last night and less than an hour last night.. How do I stop fucking up my schedule, help me Veeky Forums ;(

Occasionally I get the urge and install steam. Halfway during a game download I realize what I'm doing and delete without playing.

I used to take cold showers a lot,mand only a month ago I stopped. It made basically no changes and my hair, skin, and body feel the same as they did before (my body is slightly slimmer now, I guess). Don't waste your time.

I'm too poor for preworkout and supliments so every workout I do is raw willpower

i used to do them daily for a month or 2 but it just drained me, i ended up dreading the entire day, its just too much. now i just take sponge baths just to wash my body and im out

cold showers are good to start but aren't really going to cut it long term unless you live where the cold water temp is near freezing. buy an old chest freezer for a couple hundred bucks and fill it with water. it only needs to run a few hours every 4-5 days to keep it just above freezing. then you get your wim hof on.

Same here, I would like to enjoy an epic game again. Like an early Zelda a Bastion or JA2.

I think that the cold showers have more to do with building mental discipline rather than achieving godmode.

A valuable skill to have druing the happening.

Been trying to teach myself some discipline. It's hard though. I love lifting and eating well, I just made a habit out of it. But studying, even if I like the subject, is nothing more then tedious and any habits I try to form with it always go to the wayside. I keep trying, but I always end up failing.

Fuck me that's what I do.
I can't do moderation. Either 0 gaming, or I binge game 6 hours a day.
So I do 0 and watch twitch streams of others gaming...

I have no responsibilities right now aside from working out and so I stay at home all day and I think being on the computer for so long is really getting to me. I'm becoming extremely forgetful and struggle imensely to focus on things. My sleeping pattern is also fucked and I cant bring myself to get up early to fix it. What can I do?

I recently got my ps3 back (had it lent to a friend then my sister for a few years, who used it as a dvd player) and I'm thinking of giving it back to her.
I know there is very little good that could come out of me having a ps3 in my appartment again and though it would be nice to play occasionally do I know from past experience that i tend to play a bit too much and let my priorities get fucked.
It would be nice to play a few games that i haven't (mainly want to pick up Dark Souls) but i know that it'd be best to just give it back to her.

I haven't had any tv or computer with sound in my appartment and it has done wonders to my productivity, but ... I'd really like to play Dark Souls..

I've never enjoyed videogames. I love watching youtube of people playing them, or twitch. I always get bored of em. Exceptions being Mount and blade.

what's that? For me, I naturally fall into the cycle of going to sleep at 4 or so every night and waking up at 1 and that's just how I naturally like to sleep.

I try and meditate. I've got this app on my phone called Moment that tracks how much I use it every day, which I really like. Most days I hit around 45 minutes, which feels good -- but then again, I am also using my laptop to fuck around on Veeky Forums for maybe another hour or two.

I have a question and don't want to start a new thread for it, couldn't find a more appropriate one, hope one of you can help. I want to go to the gym more often because it's something to do and I like it. Right now I go four days a week. Is it beneficial or dumb to skip rest days and go back to the gym?

I moved my phone/alarmclock/porn machine away from my bed so I actually HAVE to get up to turn it off.

Prevents me from laying in bed for an extra hour and a half each morning.

I've done the same. I also have 2 alarms and move them and put them in awkward places I have to search for. Considering putting a sign on them saying: "don't be a lazy faggot, wake the fuck up" something like that.

only very ocasionally. I actually do sometimes to HELP me sleep, but I feel like its a restless sleep. I usually only smoke it with friends.

I've also stopped laying in bed all day and use a chair instead and force myself to leave the house at least once a day. What else can I do to improve? Right now I:

I haven't played a computer game since 2015 and I still have Steam on my desktop and shortcut to csgo, and ps4 under my tv.

I just stopped playing oneday as I realised I was just no longer interested or even cared, playing games became a chore. I started listening to music alot before stopping, and I'd get irritated that I couldn't listen to an album while playing a game, music killed my gaming habittions.

I have a normal shower and then end it with an approximate minute of cold water simply because it wakes me up in the morning and makes you want to get out of the shower and on with your day.

Cutting out hot water from your life is just autism, unless you're a navy seal in training or something I don't see the point.

I'm the same way with studying. If I'm trying to study I'll literally find an excuse to have to do anything else.
Try studying with a friend. I go to study sessions with a couple people in my classes and they tell you to fuck off if you're not studying. Kinda helps when someone is holding you accountable.

Read slower, really concentrate on each word. Read the words and sentences out aloud.
Think about what they mean/what you think they mean. The key really is just to do it a lot slower than you think you should read. Go full on slo-mo.
It develops your concentration, which is the main objective of what you want to develop.

this wont last long. I tried the whole work, school, sleep for 4-5 hours. I realized you need sleep to be able to study. My study time doubled from inability to remember things due to lack of sleep

I'm not trying to 'no excuses' you if you're just done, but do you live in a climate where you'd also be incapable of swimming in an unheated pool? Because if not, a lot of it's probably in your head.

I take warm showers and rinse my face and hair with cold water at the end. keeps my scalp and face from being dry as fuck.

My problem is sleeping enough.

I need more sleep though. Going to bed before 11 is difficult, I always feel so mentally stimulated at night.

I've done this, but my sleeping brain is fucking insurmountable. It's not uncommon for me to walk across the room, or crawl under my bed, or squeeze behind my bookshelf, wherever I've hidden the stupid thing, and just turn off the alarm, go right back to bed, and never realise it even went off in the first place. Like, I could be told that someone's just been sneaking into my room to turn my alarm off before it ever sounds, and I wouldn't know the difference.

I've managed to train myself into a pretty reliable habit of getting up after exactly two snoozes, though. The first snooze is a wash, I don't remember it. The second, I'm just conscious enough to think "oh fuck, I have to get up soon," and because of that extra time, by the third time the alarm goes off, I'm actually ready to get up.

You guys probably need 9 hours regularly instead of 8

8 is a very broad, very course assessment of need for an "adult", which usually means someone 30-50. The amount of sleep you need is higher the younger you are

I am an addict to MMOs, but it's only a symptom of depression. I gave my account to a friend and he's using it. Surprisingly console/singleplayer games aren't so addicting to me. For example, I put down a certain game for a few days, but I'm going to play for 2 hours and then get back to shitposting. Which moves me on to my major addiction.

i used to take naps all the time. then i switched to getting 8.5-9 hours of sleep a night for a few months. after a while i just naturally started waking up at exactly 8 hours. fixing sleep was really important for me.
