If you're straight and your friend is at least average-looking, it's very likely that you'll feel more than platonic affection.

And that's fine. It doesn't corrupt the friendship. No relationship is the same, and a relationship can have familial feelings, platonic affection, sexual desire, romantic love, etc. all bound up together without any of them contradicting one another. Feelings are complicated and overlap a lot.
