Lesbians are a male sexual fantasy that is so prevalent in media and culture that we've forced it on vulnerable women who think that it is a legitimate lifestyle choice.

>who is Sappho?
A male fantasy.
So you are saying Sappho never existed, and if the person did exist, it was a man that wrote all the poems to satisfy his ancient yuri fantasies?
I'm saying that most of Sappho's lesbian poetry was "translated" by English Romantics with yuri fantasies. The idea that Sappho was a lesbian is so ingrained in Western and particularly English-speaking culture that it's impossible to separate fantasy from reality, just like the Ancient Athenian perspective dominates our modern understanding of Greek culture.
A valid argument. I have to agree with you on that, however, I disagree with the idea that:
>Lesbians are a male sexual fantasy that is so prevalent in media and culture that we've forced it on vulnerable women who think that it is a legitimate lifestyle choice.
What it then mean for homosexual men? Are they also just a female fantasy that was forced onto men?
Homosexuality is a product of the tight male bonds that most societies strictly encourage.
I am not talking love as in sensual attraction. I am talking as in lifelong romantic commitment. All there is to homosexual love is, indeed, the mentioned lustful attraction.
So you say that male homosexuals are created when two men are very close (best friends and all of that) and the society pushes them to get intimate and that lesbians are created purely because males have yuri fantasies about girls making out, so they force this idea onto women and some of them comfort to that idea and turn yuri.
Honestly... No, if you disregard to social encouragement or completely cut it out, you would still end up with some people being queer.
